E.g., if you're going to enter the industry at 18 (like Sasha Gray) then there's going to be a reasonable bottom limit on your number of partners. BTW, many many female pornstars begin their careers only working with their boyfriend or husband. It's one of the ways producers/companies get a hot new girl to come into the biz--the girl often thinks "Well, I'll just do this with my boyfriend, who I'm fucking anyway."

But, most change their "policy" after a year or so, because they get offered huge amounts of money (or a contract) provided they work with other guys. Other examples of the "Racquel/Derrick Syndrome" are Paula & Eric Price, and Tawny Roberts & Rick Patrick. Many couples got into porn to make some "easy" money, though in the end the relationship falters--which may or may not be beause the girl was fucking others in porn.

One last thing: there are some female pornstars that have a "civilian" husband/boyfriend who they've been with before getting into the biz...and they manage to stay together throughout the girl's career. The example that comes to mind is former Vivid Girl Jenteal.
