Okay, the summer is over and it's Best Production Release Time, and all the companies are distributing their top candidates for the up-coming awards (AVN, XRCO, Adult DVD Empire). Stars like Teagan and Carmen Luvana are out meeting fans across the county...and promoting their award worthy product.

The "top" sexvids of 2006 seem to be: "Island Fever 4" and "Emperor", with the new "Fashionistas," and "Surrender of O" also getting good buzz--although both are a little on the kinky side, which may hurt for the top awards. Finally, Wicked's "Sacred Sin" will probably be a contender. And for the gonzo categories, I doubt if anything will beat "Jenna Haze Darkside".

My money is on "Island Fever 4" because it combines the beauty of retro-porn like Andrew Blake, with the best looking female cast in a sexvid this year. Plus, the great locales of Bora Bora and the Bahamas.

Hopefully, this thread isn't viewed as a Poll.

Ummm, Sacred Sin is a Ninn Worx title. Wicked's 'big guns' release (literally!) is Manhunters.

You've got to make "Island Fever 4" and "Fashionistas," the favorites. But my sleeper pick is the next big Vivid Savanna Samson vehicle "Flasher." It may not be competitive in the various Best movies categories, but Savanna has a proven track record of AVN nominations and wins in sex and acting categories. Don't know if this one will top NDMJ, but I for one can't wait to get my pervy hands on it:)

Since this Corruption flick is now preparing to drop (or already there?), I'd seriously give Sex-E Pictures their due in this race as well....mind you, that's just based on a trailer.

I'm not sure that Emperor qualifies, particularly since I can't even find a review of it. Where's the buzz coming from?

Did Corruption make it out in time?

I could not find it any where on line by the end of last month and that was the cut off for awards consideration this year.

By being competitive for Best Production of the Year, I'm thinking about: quality of production; star power; good reviews; and sales.

Some of the product mentioned (like "Provocateur") may join the fight for top honors, but it's too early to tell.

Oh yeah, like the first Fashionistas didn't have enough "kink" in it to win AVN's Best Film in 2003.

Why say no, when it feels so good to say yes.

I hate those awards. The porn that wins usually sucks.

Island Fever and Fashionistas 2 will probably win the awards.

Sacred Sin and Tailgunners are the best movies, though.

Hardware, here are some Emperor reviews for you:

I'm not certain Lee, but I think it's official street date was during the last week of September. I, too, can't find it anywhere online...but to those whom it matters the most (screeners?), they've probably got their copy in hand already, no?
