Hi there,
I'm working on a paper on meta-porn and need some help with coming up with titles, especially films from before 1990 and maybe even some real vintage, i.e. (plot-driven) stag, stuff. I had a talk on the issue at a conference some months back, but now that I'm writing my contribution to the conference proceedings, I have the feeling that I've only scratched the surface ...
To give you a clearer idea of what I'm looking for:
a) porn about porn filming - e.g. 2040, Take 69 (no auditioning kind of stuff, filming of an actual porn flick; what I'm hoping to find - though I doubt that there are such porn films out there - is porn that is filmed in a porn flick that (i.e. the first one, the 'embedded' porn) turns out to be the porn one's watching in the first place, if you know what I mean - like the horror films New Nightmare and In the Mouth of Madness)
b) porn about porn distribution, especially reflection on/of digital distribution - e.g. Naked Aces 5
c) porn breaking the 'fourth wall' - e.g. the end of Grub Girl, where Brittney Skye addresses the audience saying something along the lines of "if you hadn't thought of having sex with the zombie, you wouldn't have watched this shitty movie"; Gina Wild IV (Germany, mid-1990s), where the flow of the narrative is disrupted when Gina and her director talk about what has happened in the film so far and tell the audience what's coming up next; The Virgin in the Hot Pants (1920s) where one of the female performers says "You there in the front row, spread those lips apart for us" - this does not include the mere looking into the camera (still gotta come up with an explanation in how far the 'looking into the camera' is different from these verbal remarks, but ...)
d) meta-porn - porn in which genre conventions etc. are discussed, e.g. PopPorn: The Guide to Making Fuck (often goes hand in hand with point a)
e) parodies/porn adaptations that stylistically mirror the original - I'm thinking here of Brazzers' Requiem for a Dream spoof, so not merely the typical "take some sets that loosely look like the original film/tv series and spoof it" kind of thing
f) porn that in some way (more or less) explicitly reflects on its mainstreaming - the most vivid example I can come up with here is from Scrubs: XXX when J.D./D.J. starts thinking about his college years and the memory is framed as a kind of porn ad (which is also linked to the porn distribution thing mentioned above)
Thanks!

Thanks. I had hoped that a thread like this is around here somewhere, just couldn't find it. Stupid reliance on the search function when all I would have needed to do was go to the second page of topics ...

^ No worries - the thread I started got predominantly suggestions of porn movies that are about the making of a porn movie, or about the industry. I got far fewer suggestions of porn that acknowledges itself or is self-aware in some way. Maybe this thread will be more fruitful, as you articulated what you want far better than I did.
