| Heinrich Dahlmear Member Palatine, Illinois 118 Posts 8/04 | Posted - Jan 13 2005 : 12:08AM Actually, while it can be used as an uber-small desktop machine, I think it has greater potential in other applications - such as a media center hooked up to a TV via the DVI to S-Video/Composite adapter and controlled remotely, or even better, you can run it headless (no monitor, keyboard or mouse) and have it boot into OSX in console mode, and use it as an ultra quiet network file server... or heck, both of those options at once. This is a really neat product - on the message boards of the tech sites I frequent, people are going nuts over this thing, and a lot of PC users who've never owned a Mac before are planning on buying this. I know my mom is looking for a new computer, she is using my old apple desktop machine, this is probably something she will look into. I'd be tempted to get one myself if I didnt have my PowerBook G4 right now. [Link] |
