^^A departure from Evil Angel would be huge if true. His relationship with that studio goes back more than 10 years. He's got tons of series (Raw, Dirty Talk, Slutty & Sluttier, 2 Cute 4 Porn, Evil Angel, Phat Bottom Girls, Fucked on Sight) under them. He may not be able to use those title names if he goes to another distributor. Hopefully, someone will tweet him on his page and ask him he's still directs for Evil Angel.

Considering the slow pace of modern porn production I think some are jumping the gun with talk of him leaving EA. But if so, remember EA was great at DVD distro but much weaker on the net. The titles he directs for other companies may be bringing in more money online than his EA titles so perhaps he is reconsidering where best to put his time.

^ Good for him. The EA website, hosted and managed by Gamma Entertainment, is terrible. I noticed that starting a couple of months ago Jules started putting many of Manuel's scenes up on the website that had been backlogged, some for as long as 12 months from the time they had been released on dvd. At the time I thought that maybe Manuel had put pressure on Jules to do so, or he was leaving. Now it looks like it may have been part of the discussion as Manuel was deciding about staying at EA, with Jules showing him some goodwill. Jules backlogging scenes has always been a big downside for membership to his website. Hopefully he will continue to keep the updates both frequent and somewhat in line with the dvd releases. This duo (Just Dave + Manuel) could be a great news for the BIZ. Dave is a very good director and Manuel is again the best performer in my opinion I can't wait to see all the 70 scenes [:P)]
Just talked with him on Twitter and he assured me RAW will continue. I asked specifically if it was "For Jules Jordan?" and he didn't answer that part of the question directly, but I suppose based on the earlier tweet in French that must be the case.

^ That's a pretty odd and specific theory. Unless someone involved actually spills the beans as to what happened, I don't really even have a guess. As long as he keeps up his Raw series somewhere, I'm happy. Kind of a bummer as an Evil Angel member though, to be honest. I really enjoy most of Adriano and Darkko's work. LeWood and Mick Blue's knockoff Adriano stuff I'm kind of tepid on. I used to like Kevin Moore's movies but now they're all faux-incest themed. I rarely even check out the stuff from the other directors. :/
So far those scenes on Bang are nothing special and I am not overly impressed with his choice of pairings and castings recently - Raw is an exception but still there are so many potentially wasted all posts commenting on this thread listing who he should be working are spot on and it just baffles me that Manuel or if he has an agent ?? doesn't really seen to have a clue about all these listed new young and upcoming porn stars apart from that Kayden Casting Couch recently. I am not impressed with his constant re-pairing with the same stars too much MILF stuff as well - It is boring I hope 2017 changes all this :) Fuck the French was a decent recent release though
^He may continue the concept with Jules Jordan but under another name. For example, instead of Raw he could call it "Uncut" I'm surprised his wife is okay with him continuing to do this series. Going to hotels or bringing these women to his house to do long unscripted sex scenes is a bit much.

Yeah, I was pretty surprised at that. Wonder what changed after all these years.I know this is the case for studios like Elegant and Jules Jordan that the names of the series stay with them. I thought maybe it would be different with Evil Angel due to the fact that each director kinda gets their own production. Like Evil Angel is purely the distributor right? For Elegant it is an "Elegnt Angel movie", directed by _____. But for Evil it is a "Manuel Ferrara Production". Maybe I'm inventing a distinction where there is none. I totally know what you mean though, most times the name of the series stays with the studio. I just was unclear if those same rules applied to Evil Angels setup.
Jada Stevens and Manuel in a scene? I can't believe this might actually happen! I swear if this was back in the old days of me going to stores to buy dvds or blurays, I'd gladly drop $40 for that Raw. Round off the cast with Lana Rhoades, Lena Paul and Kendra Sunderland (one can dream) and you'd have probably a top 3 Raw.

I think it's a pipe-dream to think he landed Alexis Texas for a Raw scene. There's no way he's going to get intimate, passionate, and "raw" in a scene with her. I really don't see her letting go with Manuel.
Based on his veiled comments, it looks like he's working with Jada Stevens. I suspect the scene will be with Hardx. That's where she's doing her anal scenes. On a side note, it looks like Manuel is working more with Greg Lansky's site. He's been in three scenes in the last month. I'm not a big fan of Lansky's stuff. The aesthetics are amazing, but the sex feels scripted and mechanical. I'll be disappointed if he replaced his Evil Angel work with Tushy/Vixen scenes, to be honest.
If Manuel casts Alexa Tomas , Amirah Adara, Jada Stevens , Ava Addams & sarah Vandella and gives nice facials at the end of each scene then i will be very happy.

This. The scenes on Blacked, Vixen, and Tushy have all gotten more the way you are describing as they've gone along. I like the back story lead ins with the girls posing in front of a mirror or whatever. It's the sex itself. It's really lacking energy the last couple months. Outside of Kimmy's scene for Vixen, I can't remember one the last three months I've liked.
^ The way I would put it is that Lansky is the best photographer in porn, but that doesn't make him the best director in porn. He basically stages all of his scenes like you would stage a photo shoot.
Agreed. His scenes are beautifully shot. The women look their very best. However, I find his shoots (Blacked, Tushy, and Vixen) to be boring. Highly choreographed, staged, no heat, no chemistry between performers, lackluster sex. I'm surprised Manuel shoots for them since he likes to do things his way. I guess the paycheck looks good.

^ He addressed it somewhere, a podcast or something. I can't remember now. What I recall is that he was essentially turned off by her actions in some way. I honestly don't think he went into great detail other than they were booked for a scene early on and something happened that caused him to cancel and kinda no-list her essentially. May have been as simple as a miscommunication. I mean the famous story is of him being turned off of Kayden early on in a somewhat similar type of thing where the way she acted or his perception at least made him just say "no way" and then he changed his mind down the line. He's not afraid to swear certain people off to keep his work more happy and it seems sometimes he maybe pulls that trigger too quickly. I mean the Kayden story is pretty good evidence that his radar on these things is not always 100% or that he should be willing to revisit his perceptions on certain people quicker than he does. I get why he does this though. Like if you feel like working with someone will make you unhappy and you have the ability to block them out it makes sense. You just might not always be right.
^He and Jada were in the same Digital Playground movie in 2013 called "Don't Fuck My Sister" Maybe something happened during that shoot that turned him off. Maybe they made up at this year's AVN conference. In any event, it sounds like they patched things up. :)
