Did we ever resolve whether it would make financial sense for a company to try to bring her to America? I find it hard to believe that Vivid or Wicked couldn't afford to sign Maria.
I'm not sure it's a case of whether they could afford to sign her or not. I imagine that whatever they could offer her (or any other US companies, for that matter) could easily be matched by any number of Japanese companies. Remember, right now the US economy is in the toilet, and Japan's is actually doing alright, considering the whole world is having trouble due to gas prices and such. Their porn industry is massive, we just aren't exposed to it in the west because of the censorship thing. It's not like she's from a small market like Korea or Vietnam or something. Japan is a huge country with a lot of money, and they really don't need US attention to fly. So, for her, there's not really any reason to come over here. Besides, for every porn fan that loves Asian girls here, there are 3 or 4 who just want to see busty white blonds. Think that of all the Superstars of porn, only Tera Patrick is Asian (and she's got massive tits, something Maria Ozawa doesn't have). She likely wouldn't - and couldn't - have the appeal of Stormy Daniels or jessica drake, or Teagan Presley or Jesse Jane, or Savanna Samson or Brianna Banks. If she was super lucky and things worked out really well for her, she might be able to achieve the kind of success that Kaylani Lei has. But she's far more popular already in Japan. So I think it's not very likely at all that she'll show up here any time soon. The only way I can see it is when she's shot out in Japan, she can come here and start an entirely new career as an American porn star. Which may happen, but not for a few years yet.

I totally disagree. Maria Ozawa would be the most beautiful Asian to EVER perform in American porn. She'd be booked for months in advance. Anyone who can't see the money making potential in this woman is nuts.
^Again, I didn't say she wouldn't be a beautiful Asian, and maybe even the most beautiful Asian. But there is only so much market for Asians! And not nearly as much as there is for busty white blond girls. And, again, as I said, even if some companies are thinking that she'd do well here, and they should make her an offer to come here, I'm sure any number of Japanese companies could easily match that offer to keep her in Japan.

I'd love to disagree with the porn buyer's preference for blondes, but I can't. It's the truth. I have no idea why so many porn buyers like fake blondes with fake tits so much, but they do. Personally, I would buy someone like Maria Ozawa over many of the blondes, especially the ones that have had plastic surgery which I despise. I've bought more Marie Luv than I have Jessie Jane or Teagan. But the only time I've ever liked the typical blonde porn star was when I was into Jamie Summers. I liked her because she looked exactly like a girl I was lusting over in High School. I prefer Maria Ozawa's natural body and face (at least she looks all natural). I'm happy you don't see as much plastic surgery in Japanese porn like you do in American porn. European porn doesn't have as much plastic surgery as American porn, though it has more than Japanese from what I've seen. I much prefer a natural, imperfect body over a plasticized "perfect" body. I can only assume that most porn girls get plastic surgery because they look in the mirror and see something they don't like. I've always found that to be the strangest thing since alot of pornstars that have this kind of cosmetic surgery were already successful and beautiful to begin with. But back to the topic. I hope Maria Ozawa does make it over here. I think she could be highly successful, especially considering she can speak English. The big thing holding back certain Japanese stars from blowing up over here is their lack of English skill. I've always though Koda Kumi could blow up in America if she spoke good English. That girl can dance and is hot as hell. It sounds like the Japanese porn market is bigger than the U.S. porn market and more lucrative for those stars with outstanding beauty like Maria. She has a very appealing look.

I agree, that dyed hair does not look good at all. I never like it when Asian women dye their hair (other than even more black). That style she had in April is awesome. I'd love to get something centered solely on Maria Ozawa but most places that distribute her titles only sell them as region2(?) dvd's. I'm interested in getting the region all or region1 dvd's but I can't seem to find any place that ships movies that play in North America(Canada). I don't want to go to all the trouble of buying a movie that I can't even play here. Do you have any suggestions Patrick? I'm sure I could do something to convert my dvd player so it will play region 2 dvd's, but I'd just rather find a player I can purchase in Canada that will do the same thing, and again I'm not too sure where those can be found. I'm just not that tech savvy when it comes to issues like mine. So any reccomendations would be a great help cause I just want to jump on the Maria Ozawa train, but I'm not sure where to board..lol.
Lloyd the only website I know that would be good for you is this one. Since Japanese companies only produce region 2 dvds, I would guess that they are selling dvd-r versions.
a small question about Maria Ozawa's new DVD, Patrick : as you told, since it is an uncensored video it is hosted by a web site which is not located in Japan, but in Europe (if I remember your message in the previous pages of this thread). Consequently, will this DVD be available in its original form (= not bootleg, not DVD-R) in more retailers (US retailers for instance). Or will it available only in Square.net and the other usual retailers sites for Japanese DVDs ?...
Toufute, as far as I can tell, Tora Tora Platinum should be available from many non-Japanese sites that sell uncensored Japanese DVDs. XVN will definitely have vol. 49 in their DVD shop (Patrick posted a direct link to it above), as will allasiandvd.com (which is probably where I'm going to order it from), but you can check elsewhere just by doing a google search, too. These sites are much less expensive than square, for instance. (You probably won't find it at places that don't specialize in Japanese material, though.) And Lloyd, this is another site that has a lot of region-free uncensored Japanese DVDs, as well as vcds of censored releases (including some of Maria Ozawa's films). Yes the Tora-Tora uncensored movie will be available at many retailers, that's not a problem. The only reason I'm hesitating on ordering it is that it's only 90 minutes long. On the XVN website they will post 3 hours of footage in September only. I heard there may be even more later. So I might not order the dvd and just become a member of the site and download it from there. The first 45 minutes movie Sofa Shakedown was made available today. It's a 969 MB file for a 45 minutes video so the resolution should be pretty good.
