I think it's just the ever-widening gap between really good porn (e.g. Jake Malone, Jules Jordan), and mediocre porn. It's funny, because I've been raving about plenty of other titles. Perhaps I'm doing it in threads you don't visit as much (like "May '06 - Last Scene You Stroked It To").

But I've even been impressed by a couple JM movies of late - American Bukkake #29 particularly rocks (having Sasha Knox in it certainly helps!).

This latest Del Toro debacle just really happened to tick me off.

I didn't want to bring this up, but I feel I must, I manage a 3 million dollar portfolio and am a project manager for a web development company I know a thing or two about business.

These studios are poorly managed. To let 5-6 proven money makers go to a rival company is a very stupid move.

Mr. Joseph dosn't get that the director on the DVD is what really matters, because the internet is so saturated people rarely buy DVD/Tapes any more on an aggregate level, people like M. John brought RLD to its position, so yeah it was stupid, and yeah I believe I could run a porn company well.

J. Malone and Del Toro are both way over the top, Luger is a tool bag.

These are my opinions, however, and like the saying goes opinions are like assholes...everyone has one. One can critique my opinions without personally insulting me.

As far as my personal tastes, amateur allure is a great site, cumfiesta network is great, one on one series is good, like 70's stuff with BJs with red lipstick. Love the idea of a real movie with sex in it, imagine watching Scarlett suck a guy off, don't like gangbangs they gross me out.

I don't like 8 ex cons being mean to some poor 18 year old, girls obviously on hard drugs, directors who can't hold a camera, editers who need to read a how to manuel for Power Director, don't like DP it is gross, anal is okay if girl is into it and is getting off, in my personal life anal is something I do not enjoy, calling glorified cameramen ""directors."

So please don't be petty, just b/c you disagree.

What it looks like is happening is that Martin, Jake and David are stepping it up and filling in for a company that puts out a shitload of porn and has lost a solid stable of directors. Over the next little while, you will likely see more good directors added to the roster to fill that void.

Personally, I think they are all decent directors. Some better than others but to each their own.

Look at Anabolic and Diabolic. Many wrote them off for dead when people like Mike John et al left. It looks to me that they are doing better than ever. Their product is solid.

My only suggestion to the owners would be that this time of change would be optimal to do a little introspection as to what has made you successful, what is going on in the changing marketplace since you started and how you can regain command of the market.

Now I've also recently watched "Black In the Crack Black In the Back 2", and was also very pleasantly surprised. It's really damned good. the Amber Rayne and Kaci Starr scenes got me, but good. And Veronica Jett's scene may be the best effort I've ever seen from her (though I haven't seen all that much of her stuff).

"Throat Gaggers #11" is awesome. Almost every scene is good and a few of them are in the "great" category - the Nikki Nievez and Lexi Love scenes for example, are BLISTERING.

And I just saw "Hardcore D.P. #2". WOW! The Nikki Nievez scene in this movie is up there with some of the best porn I think I've ever seen. Some of that has to do with Nikki - she is amazing - an underrated/underutilized performer for a long time, and she's breaking out like nobody's business these days. But this scene has everything I like, and lots of it: dirty talk for days, rough oral, more ATM than you can shake your stick at, inventive positions for the DPs, double-sucking (!), etc. etc.

The lens spitting and armpit fucking are basically gone, and what's left is very solid porn. And I agree that del Toro seems to bring out the best in a lot of girls.
