By the way, one thing I've been meaning to mention here...even though I've been pleased with most of the recent Mason scenes, I'm a little disappointed that Liz Jordan has yet to appear in a scene for Mason. I definitely remember requesting her in this thread a few months ago, and some of you chiming in with your approval. I thought, for sure, she would've appeared in a Mason-directed scene for HardX (or DarkX) by now. She's appeared in numerous scenes for other sites on my porn radar, but nothing with Mason yet. ^ Cool, that's promising news. I'm hoping that, with things improving in regards to the pandemic, the update frequency will improve starting next month. Bummed on the updates - no more LesbianX? Last was on 3/17, the updates extend to 4/17, I would expect a single LesbianX upload per month to be entirely doable and for one to be in the upload schedule for the next month.
I would expect one per week - pre-pandemic. I had thought about joining Brazzers for Hot & Mean, their lesbian brand but they had bait & switch sign up tactics, had to cancel immediately (nowhere on the sign up page did the mention an upcharge for downloads). That being said, the consistency with which they've maintained their lesbian releases over the years is remarkable (quality/tastes of course always debatable).
Not counting their first year, 2009, and this year so far having just started, they've averaged 53 scenes per year every full year of their existence. They did dip last year, but being CV19 and all, I get it. That's maintaining a 1/week average for a DECADE.
So even asking for one every two weeks isn't asking too much (non-pandemic era). But to have it show back up and then not to have another one in the Update schedule for the next month, well that leaves a bad taste in one's mouth. C'mon Mason - film up some blistering hot hardcore lesbian gonzo scenes please.

I'm also glad to see a new Lacy Lennon scene, although, I have to nitpick and say that I find it annoying that she is wearing a garter belt and stockings in yet another scene. What is the current situation in the USA regarding filming permits? I drop by HardX every now and then and it all seems kind of abandoned and bleak. Are there strict regulations regarding shooting, does she shoot less by her own choice....is there a water level report?
^ Someone else can probably give a more concrete answer than I can, but it seems from the outside that there are some kind of regulations. Whether it is written law, or more unspoken there seems to be some kind of guideline based on what I've noticed (and not noticed) from all different studios. Doesn't mean there isn't room for some flexibility in terms of what's shot, we did notice a potential Vanessa Sky DP having been shot a couple weeks ago (March 20th) so things may be moving in a direction in which there will be more shoots with more variety. Not sure if that is the answer you're looking for but I figured I'd offer a couple of cents where I could.

I don't know what's going on. Mason's sites are still at a "drip, drip ... " update rate, while other U.S.-based sites I follow seem to be getting back to their normal update rates. For instance, Mike Adriano's got five different sites to his name and, damn it, he's had a brand new scene for each one of those sites every 5 days (6 scenes per month, essentially) since October. Meanwhile, in the last month (March) for the flagship site (HardX), there were just three updates. And, needless to say, the updates for the other sites (DarkX, LesbianX, AllBlackX) have been worse. I totally give them a pass for 2020, but I have to admit, now, I am becoming a bit frustrated with how few XEmpire updates there are still.

One has already gotten used to the idea that the times of the major showcases and "first times" are over. It's a shame that the work of such a fantastic director is now being reduced to generic 1 vs 1 scenes........which also appear only very infrequently.
^ That is definitely a legit fear I have had cross my mind as well. There seem to be more and more girls out there who are doing their firsts for various things on their own. It's a shame considering how many firsts Mason has had previously and how amazingly well she has done with them. I'm not willing to say that for sure all hope is lost, but it is certainly not encouraging when compared to what has happened with some other studios.
We do know about Vanessa Sky's DP (We think it's a DP at least) that was shot near the end of March, so it'll be a welcome sight when that is added to the 'upcoming scenes' list. Maybe that can be the catalyst for things to shift back more towards "normal". Since Kylie Rocket's scene (released on 3/27) there has been Lacy Lennon (4/3) released and Alexia Anders (4/10) and Natasha Nice (4/17) all coming in 4 consecutive weeks. So that is a nice shift back to once a week, on the HardX front. So lets hope that continues and in the coming weeks/month or so we can move past having solely 1 on 1 scenes.

I think it's mainly an economic aspect. If you pay one more person, the earnings must also be higher. And then you check what promises more more sales - 3 people - DP/Anal/no Anal. And I think that scenes with DP sell much better. In the end, it's not about what I personally like better, but what the sales figures of the last 10 years indicate.
^ Maybe I'm new about HardX but I always find the threesomes (bgg) especially anal very rare in the site, the only exception is the Showcases. What I can say is their dp catalog is very good but I think that the girls are more and more willing to save some of the firsts for big showcases, big sites or OF stuff
I don't disagree with what you're saying on the whole. Other studios have definitely been doing it, and it can be frustrating seeing it not come for us diehard HardX and Mason fans. I think if nothing else it shows it can be done, but there are a myriad of reasons why they may not be plunging in quite yet. Maybe they don't want to do it just for the sake of doing it, but rather come back with a bang in their regular series when they're able to come back? It possibly links to what I said above, if they know they have dedicated fans to the Facialized series, the Gangbang Me and the DP Me series it is possible they're prioritizing bringing those back with a flurry, with what the fans want most when they can rather than just doing ggb 2 on 1's just to do it? So they save the investment to put into those productions, that they know garner the interest and guaranteed return from an established base.
But yes, as I think a lot of us have commented and feel, we're waiting for the dam the give a little and return more to what we're used to. Personal opinion is that it is coming, and it may be sooner than we think, but a little more patience is going to be required until we get it.

As disappointed as I am with the continued slow rate of updates, X Empire still probably has as many scenes per month that I really enjoy compared to many other sites that release much more content. The standard of quality is still high enough to not make me regret my 3-year subscription, but I did expect to be back to a better-than-2020 update rate by now.

I watched that new Alexia Anders scene as soon as it was released last night. It's been a while since I've been so eager to watch a new scene! As I commented on the site, I really hope they bring her back for something else as soon as possible!
