I'm a DVD-only guy myself, but I was wondering how the management decides which of the two got better track. I mean DVD sales you can measure easily and establish a what-release-brings-how-much-$, in the download/subscribe you can only guess. You know which videos get downloaded/watched how often (and perhaps also in more detail on the streaming part, how long does the average user watch a scene, does he skip over content etc...) But can you directly establish a subscriber number to a special scene? I mean, you have the data of those who watch scenes but you don't know why they initially joined and what really is keeping them hooked. Or can you announce a special scene and see immediately on the new subscribers if producing that scene was a good investment or not? What of those who already are subscribed? They cannot really express their interest other than some rating on the page? Ho much does this factor in? in other news: When I recently checked out my HardX DVD collection, I saw that the "Make Me Gape" DVD is still a single issue... any plans on putting out a similar one in the future? Riley Reid did a scene with James Deen where she supposedly wanted to "Improve" her gaping skills. I'd say it's about time to put these skills to a test. So if you have a scene that a lot of people are looking at and then joining, then that's a good sign that there's a demand for that type of scene that you have fulfilled. You can use stream/downloading and rating numbers on top of that to see how your current audience is feeling about a scene. [Link]
