Mason brings a studied, sculpted approach to her work which superficially appear to be at odds with the annimalistic rutting she records. However, it's the calculated, analytical approach that enables her to strip away the layerd vernier of civility and humanity and explore the limbic region of her performers. So (no surprise) it was with a good deal of anticipation that I sat down last night to watch "Mason's Riot Sluts!". My high expectations for Mason's latest work were realized as the incredible action unfolded before my eyes. Mason declares - quite clearly - in her Behind The Scenes interview that she is presenting a no holds (or holes) barred FEMALE attitude to sexuallity. To paraphrase the attitude she is presenting, "I doing this because I like it. It's not pretty? Well, tough shit then. Go fuck yourself. This is MY way of getting off. Take it or, leave it." The irony here, the delacate high wire act, that Mason is able to pull off, is that she also For me this was most apparent in the scene between Katrina Kraven and Erik Everhard. This is a scene of hard, hard fucking and intense pussy licking as Katrina comes and comes. Erik feeds off this and is driven to push (literally) Katrina deeper and deeper into that mystical space where consciousness fades away to ALL pleasure. This is REAL fucking. Yes, a camera is rolling, and actors are in front of it. But, the moment belongs to two people and we are the flies on the wall. Mason has made this magical moment possible. Somehow. Each of the other scenes are as remarkable and as special in this way. Ariana Jollee is a decadent jewel wrapped in the foil of grubby L.A. back streets. In a seedy warehouse she explores the transgressions of Interracial Sex, dominance and submission, and verbally lacerates our most sacred taboos. Kami Andrews - a disengaged, narcissistic, hooker has her self image literally wrecked on the ROCK of Brandon Iron's cock. Kami loves every minute of it and when it's over it's literally a wrap. (Kami's Behind The Scenes interview adds a girlish/teen poignancy as she confesses a real crush on Brandon). Mandy Bright is a naughty, naughty pissy dog who gets strict and proper paper training. This doggy will never mess the kitchen again. (Mason generously shares Mandy's website info for all her kinky viewers). Katrina Kraven and Gia Paloma prove that lesbian love isn't all flowers and candles as they get down and dirty in the road. I need to emphasize again the sense of reality that come through each of the above scenes. The players here are really into rough and ready sexuality. Mason's direction - however she does it - allows the real persona of each player to emerge within the framework of the story line. There are no boring moments here. A brief note about the DVDs mastering and production values. I DID NOT note any problems with menu functionality, lighting or scene blocking. In my opinion this supposed issue (presented elsewhere) is a Red Herring. Each scene is expertly blocked and lit for maximum effect. Additionally, the Behind The scenes footage includes some interesting scenes about the mechanics of shooting an adult video as well as performers personal thoughts. Why do you both insist on continuing to rent or buy these titles? I understand your frustrations in wanting to see these movies without technical problems (actually, I share your frustrations). PXP agrees that there is a problem and they are working on correcting it. At this point, just adding a post saying something like; "For people who have experienced "halo" problems with some PXP titles, the problem does (or doesn't, if applicable) exist on this title. The problem on this disc is less than (same as, or more than) usual." is really all that is necessary in order to be helpful to people. REALLY LIKED the Kami Andrews-Brandon Iron scene. Not much interested in girl on girl scenes, BUT, I am a big fan of both Katrina Kraven and Gia Paloma , so I watched their scene. Very nice, aggressive, lesbian romp. I wished it would have continued when the four guys showed up, and both girls would have gotten it on with the four guys. Did not enjoy any of the other scenes. I remain mystified by the Ariana Jollee worship in this forum. She seems to be an energetic and capable enough performer, but that describes at least half the girls working in porn today. And for my tastes, her attractiveness leaves a lot to be desired. She looks quite unremarkable to me and I can think of dozens, if not hundreds of current porn actesses with more visual appeal. She looks kinda like a Jewel DeNyle knockoff, IF Jewel were about two or three orders of magnitude less attractive. Jewel is beautiful, this girl is not. In this movie, I didn't find Jollee near as attractive or sexually alluring as Katrina or Kami, and her performance, while inspired, wasn't any better than Katrina's or Kami's either. My unappreciation for Jollee had no bearing on my appreciation of Mason's directorial approach and skill, or of "Riot Sluts" as an overall production. I like Mason's work. I liked the "Dirty Trixxx" movies. I liked "Sexual Disorder" . But my porn affection and appreciation is about seventy-five percent actress specific and actress driven, so that is pretty much what's gonna drive my enjoyment of a scene. I really dug Kami's scene and thought she was beautiful and really energetic. And she completely gave herself over to Mason and Brandon, which took a lot of faith. But Katrina Kraven was just INCENDIARY! I almost had a spontaneous, non-contact, non-stroke, nut bust, watching her volcanic eruption.
