Earlier scenes were different and one of the easiest ways to tell them apart (though it isn't 100% conclusive) is if Max went down on the model. He did that in most of his early scenes. Those were great. They pushed the boundaries but never crossed into misogyny. I'll always be grateful for Max introducing me to my first big porn crush - Tammi Ann. I continued to follow his career even though his videos got a bit too rough for my tastes. I was a bit surprised, in a good way, to read that Layla Rivera remained friends with Max until his death. They had some great scenes together. I know Max was convicted and imprisoned, but I still think that that he was subject to a witch hunt that was looking to prosecute anyone. Max was just the unlucky victim. It could have been someone else. The article also explains why he used that fake dildo in the scene he shot after getting out of prison. His friend is quoted as saying that Max wanted to get back into the business but never seemed to connect like he had in his heyday. It does sound like Max had a rough time for the past few years and the description of what he went through doesn't sound pleasant. RIP Max. |
| Mike Hawk CEO Dixon Cider Member I heard that! 885 Posts 1/20 | I liked his early stuff as a lot of the girls were newbies. I also liked how he'd shoot the facials with the long closeup of the girl mugging for the camera drooling jizz. I also liked his late 90's-00's stuff with the pedo feel. The ones where he'd meet the girl in the park and have them call him mister. Faves that he shot were Leah Stevenson, Lelani Lei, Alicia Rio's anal, and Tammi Ann. Once he shifted to the edgier treatment of the girls I was out. I'd also want to smack him one time for dressing up as a cowboy complete with him drawing a six shooter pointing at the camera. The ad was in AVN for whatever distributer he was with at the time. All the other directors on the page were just standing there. Him, nope, cowboy! |
