According to her, she did some work with someone whom they have bad blood/workplace drama history with, they found out about it, and cancelled everything on her after agreements had been made. Paige Owens says "I think I know who you're talking about 🙃 they've last minute cancelled scenes on me (the morning of) at least 4 times and owe me all my cancellation fees for them but keep saying they'll just put it on my check when I work for them 💀" in response to her post. Because Melody is independent of an agency, she has no leverage to work against the unnamed content producer, which seems to be the now- Russian owned and financed VIXEN MEDIA group.
Devil's advocate here, as I was present to some of the drama - Working with Disciples of Desire was not the only thing that led to the cancellations. Scheduling an american performer to fly to europe and getting all those shoots together, can be a logistical nightmare. Location shoots are difficult already so maybe the tight window did not allow for wiggle room if Melody has any scheduling conflicts of any kind.
Melody is also very smart at social media. She plays cute and innocent, but she's wickedly adept at the game. Stirring shit up creates a lot of drama and engagement, and she knows this.
She's wonderful to work with, under the right working styles.

The fact that she already turned it down, and still records with the DoD, is over, she never works for them again.
Wow that sucks that Melody's journey with Vixen Media Group has been ruined. What is it that Julia Grandi has against Disciples of Desire that would make her blacklist models for working with VMG?
Like what makes DoD bad in her eyes?
So much for any future Vixen scenes with Melody in them. I wanted to see her with models like Sia Siberia, Jia Lissa and Eva Elfie! >:(

It's porn. Lot of sketchy people and strange mindsets. Getting a girl to do her first IR(honestly you can tell melody has huge reservations on it hence why she took so long, but its a power thing to be the ones to get her to do it) but they put her on blacked raw after promising it'd be blacked then cancelled other shoots(Melody no doubt only agreed to do it with the promise of other future work) it's all a lot of underhand stuff going on.
The fact is the industry is not pretty. A lot of these girls still sign interracial contracts or sign up to work with the vixen group knowing they're making their money from the '1st BBC' stuff even though they're not really into that but it's part of the deal.
Nothing is really what it seems and in the end Melody was motivated purely by money and it didn't work out for her so she's upset.
It's been widely reported the switzerland shoot was cancelled because war broke out in the ukraine, preventing a lot of the russian models from flying over. Julia and her team booked Melody for BRAW so at least she wouldn't leave empty handed, and arranged many shoots with other production companies, including me.
I had 3 shoots scheduled with Melody, but only managed to complete 1 because she got sick. When I shot Ariel Grace a few years ago, she had to cancel some shoots because she also got sick. These are young American girls flying to europe sometimes for the first time, adjusting to new foods while also under stress from working and acclimating to a new environment.
As I said before, it is more likely Julia cancelled on Melody for this shoot not because of Disciples of Desire, but because she may not be reliable enough to risk the production. Not to say there isn't some animosity between Julia and DoD, but Melody is likely using that as an excuse to stir up drama, which is highly engaging.
Who knows who is to blame? Only think I know is I have no interest in watching Disciples of Desire but a great interest in watching Vixen. Hope things change in the future and Melody gets her shot.
I'm surprised that they are flying North American performers to shoot in Europe because I agree with you that logistics of booking the flight, transportation to and from airport and living/dining arrangement must be hellish. Not to mention very expensive. I would add that to me shooting in exotic locations adds absolutely nothing to the finish product as that's not why I watch porn.
Where you and I may disagree is that I don't think she is all that smart with her social media. Complaining about a major studio on social media is not in her best interest because it's only going to negatively affect her since even her most fervent fans won't cancel their membership to their sites as they likely hire many of their other favorites. All it's really doing is making sure that she never works for them again and in a worse case scenario makes other studios reconsider hiring her for fear that she is a difficult person to work with.
Nearly 500k twitter followers and mostly not bots/paid for. Her body is fantastic too. She was worth the risk at first.She already had a reputation before VMG, and did not work regularly with major studios.
In addition to being gorgeous and having a fantastic body, her performances tend to be very good when she does work. It seems like if she was easy to work with she could work as much as she wanted with any studio she wanted to (look at how many times Amber Moore and Val Steele have worked with Adriano despite not being anal girls). Seems like there must be more going on. It' not like VMG is the only company that isn't throwing her regular work. In spite of being one of the hottest girls in the game, she's worked with Adriano sites like 3 times, Jules Jordan and XEmpire once each, and Evil Angel not at all in a 3+ year career.
Shame. She's easily one of my very favorite starlets.
