I have watched practically every porn movie ever made and there is no bigger fan and no one more knowledgeable about porn than myself - I have seen every single private movie there is and therefore my opinion is an educated and yet simplistic one....SPEND THE MONEY ON THE TALENT NOT JUST THE LOCATIONS!!! We have Denis Marti taking over where Woodman left off shooting beautiful girls doing anal and DP's for the first time ( Lucy, Debbie, and Marketa ) great job Dennis !! Than we have the ever failing Private ( I wonder why ) shooting beautiful locations with the same recycled girls from their last ten films.... As much as I love them, get some new girls as I am sick of seeing Maria Bellucia, Maya Gold, Alexa May, Sandy Style and Claudia Ferrari...again their all nice girls and this is not an indictment of them. As much as I like and respect Scipio, I've got to agree with horndogger. And I DID seen near everything ever made :). Is Private still in the biz at all? I think they should hire me and Noproblemo as creative consultants.
Almost every porn movie ever made? Even a few years ago they were producing over 10,000 films per year (I think it's much higher now). Even at that rate, just viewing those from the current year would mean over 27 porn films a day. Don't know how you'd squeeze in any of the classics.
Does that include gay porn, midgets, watersports, transsexuals, and scat too? Seems to me that you can't have all this knowledge without having seen all the sub-genres too. And if you have, you might try finding another hobby...like going outside.

Only Private movie I saw was Anal Clinic (or something) from early nineties w/Lydia Chanel. Basically it was shot in English so they didn't do any dubbing. I've avoided their stuff because I've read that they dub almost all their movies. A dubbed sex scene? Why dub a sex film?

as for private's dubbing, it's generally crap. It's best if they leave the film in the original language and provide us with subtitles. If you can get past that they have a ton of amazing scenes and gorgeous women.

I don't know why all these complaints about dubbing and Private movies still continue. Some months ago already, I mentioned that they stopped using this practice and that they started shooting all their new productions with direct sound, with dialogue in English (sometimes barely intelligible, but English nonetheless). They have done so for almost 2 years, I believe. It was the publicly stated reason (in "Hot Video") why they turned down Antonio Adamo after the release of Cleopatra .
Hardware said: "Nobody likes their hardware to start acting up. OK, I will have the occasional beer to be sociable."
I haven't watched a new private release for years, I'm still hung up on Gabriella Bond. I actually enjoyed the films in their original language, hopefully the accents aren't too bad.

Absolutely, but in this DVD age there should be an option to turn off the subtitles. I got some RLD dvds which the original English sound but with Dutch subtitles that I can't get rid of, it annoys the hell out of me.
Dialogue in broken English between two obvious non-native speakers is useless.
The problem we all have in this day of advanced technology is that it is easy to misunderstand when something is written as opposed to spoken....case in point my comment that I have seen every porn movie made. The truth is that I have seen probably almost every new realese in the past ten years excluding the compilations....I watch 20-30 new titles a week on average - yes I am a porn hound. To the point I was attempting to make and that is that if Private wants to return to past glory they have to bring us new talent as they once did. Private was the gateway for fresh new talent in the past coming out of europe and that formula that worked so well for them has been forgotten. I was trying to send a message to Private that we are all smart consumers and that they can't fool us with big budgets and nice locations while using recylced talent within their movies. This was a comment to Private, not to the many porn hounds on this site. They want to know what's up... I think Private was a gateway for new talent when Pierre Woodman was with them, and it was because Woodman sought out new talent. Once he left a few years ago, Private stopped offering the newest talent because they were left with directors who did not prioritize new talent. FWIW, I basically lost interest in Private roughly in 2002, because beautiful locations and such don't particularly interest me. I have moved more and more in the direction of focusing solely on the chemistry of the performers, and Private would prefer to tell a story and show off production values. And good for them, I think a large part of the more casual porn audience wants just that, but along the way, Private lost much of the "porn hound" crowd.

I think what is unfortunate is that the women of eastern europe are very beautiful and there is such a range of looks....Anita Blonde to Anita Dark if you will. They are often times natural and silicone free....new euro talent is refreshing and great to watch. At least there have been a few directors that have picked up the slack and pursued the new euro talent for hardcore scenes like Denis Marti. For me porn is about seeing beautiful women having sex. Hopefully they are shown in a visually good way - make-up, reasonable surroundings, nice clothing. I don't care about seeing new talent. I mean obviously there needs to be some new blood, but if Angel Dark is in another 100 movies, I'm not going to complain. New talent yes, if they look good and are good performers.
Private seems to be targeting the world market more than the American market. I think they are interested in tweaking their product to be more popular in the US and Europe, but not at the expense of their larger market. Remember, outside the US, Canada, and Europe most places have pretty restrictive laws on what can be shown.
I think Croy's nailed it . Private probably have larger fish to fry than 'porn hound' wieners - I'm thinking cable , satellite , and their hilarious sports drink !
Does anyone know just how much involvement Private actually had in the Pierre Woodman movies that were released under their banner ? Was it a case of Woodman making all the running and then selling the company his finished product , or did he have some specific instructions about the sort of features Private were looking for ? I think I read somewhere that about 60% of the EuroBabeIndex girls were brought into the industry by PW , which would mean that without him Private are pretty much cut off from new girls . Unless someone else decides to try and plow the same furrow he has of course .
In the late eighties, Private was not well known in the US. I imagine (remember that word) that they weren't so well known outside of Europe at that time. So new talent would not be seeking them out. Now that they are well known and with talent agencies in Hungary and the Czech Republic they may not feel the need to turn every stone.
On the original topic, hot babes in beautiful locations never hurt. Silvia Saint looked great on the beach in her early stuff for Private.
A few comments about Private (maybe I should just keep my mouth shut since I am sueing them), but anyways...I produced Cadillac Highway for Private and did pick up the Avy Scott suggestion from this board. Private has changed their direction from what I have been able to ascertain, and is more interested in the broadcast/cable/satellite market. Their move with disbanding their US operation (which cost me a great job) was stated to be to pick up Pure Plays catalog for European broadcast committments they had to keep. Those of you that have been paying attention may have noticed that Private has only released about one new movie a month for the past year. There has been a ton of recycled product though, i.e. classics, best of, etc. They are pegging a lot on their new reality series for broadcast "Private Stars" which was a hit in England. Private is actually a good company but Berth seems to be making decisions that may be good for the company but do little for porn fans.

Pvte is a " shareholder " company, listed in Europe and the US. So they´re not responsible for nothing but their shareholders. Whenever the CEO + the management means, they can make money with ( for example ) BDSM - movies only, they will DO so.
The girls are not more but employee´s like a secretary, and they have to be functionally as a secretary. If not, shares will fall down and that makes the shareholders look strange. I think, there´s a big difference between a company like ( for example ) Jewel´s Platinum - X and Private, cause Private´s listed at stock-market, Platinum is not. So you don´t really know who owns the company .....
As ya may see on the chart-link above, the company had for 2 years a big hole in the pocket, since about 6 weeks they´re climbing a bit again.
