"Other features include a custom music player and a "store" where players could make small purchases, for pennies or a few dollars, of new characters, parts for virtual racing cars and the like."
I mean, back in the old days, like last year, gamers could unlock new characters and parts for cars with codes. If games retail at the same prices as now (usually about $50 US), we will be paying that much for a game with no extras unlocked. To obtain everything a game has to offer, we will be paying more to do so. Think about back when Mortal Kombat III was released on Super Nintendo. I remember my friends and I playing and try to hit "start, select, and the L & R triggers" simultaneously when "toasty" was heard in hopes of unlocking the secret characters like Smoke, Noob Saibot, and Khameleon. Yeah, it was frustrating trying to unlock the secrets, but at least it wasn't financially painful. I know pennies or a few dollars isn't much to ask, but I just don't see why we as the consumers must fork out even more money for something that's already in the game.
Sorry for the rant, but that part got me mad. Maybe once I put my video game controller down and graduate from college, I'll have the money to unlock these cool secrets!
