Like you said yourself, the law is purposefully vague so that they can enforce it selectively. With no real and clear guideline as to what is and what is not considered obscene, of course some producers will err on the side of caution in the interest of remaining free. Max did time over producing work that was extreme but not the most extreme on the market and not particularly unique in the acts portrayed. So knowing that you can't use, "Well, this site over here did it too," as an excuse, would you put your ass on the line? The people lobbying that these people should just say eff the law are ridiculous. That being said, a Euro release would be great. I have no idea what their sales are like or how their oral movies do against their anal movies but I'd buy one at least. Who knows if they think it'd be too niche or worth their time or whatever.

i don't expect people here to bother caring but this is the deal. there is NO LAW that says "videos of vomit with chunks are illegal." a law like that would be against the first amendment of the US constitution (meaning the government could not enforce it). the GOVERNMENT is not allowed to say certain things are not allowed to be said or shown, that is one of the defining principles of the united states. a court can determine some material to be "obscene." what is obscene or isn't obscene depends on the standards of whatever community the court case would be in - that is as simple as you can put it without taking law classes. the reason it is so vague is not so that the government can make things illegal, quite the opposite. if you accuse something of being obscene there is a strict test in court that almost everything will pass (after all, there are prolapse videos etc. no problem). if the obscene material is distributed over a public network (like the mail, or internet sometimes) that becomes a crime. so, porn studios and credit card companies - NOT THE GOVERNMENT - decide on certain rules for things they will not show because they do not want to risk being sued (defending lawsuits can be expensive even if you win). the united states actually has some of the most permissive laws in the world in this realm. the reason people blame "the US" is because of the American companies that do not want to be sued. Thank you for pointing this out. It's the studios that ultimately decide what they will or won't show. In the case of PervCity, they've been legally advised not to show chunks. Not so much out of fear of the government, but rather fear of turning off the credit card companies. Evil Angel is willing to push the envelope in terms of what they'll show, however, the company that oversees their website has a stricter set of guidelines. On rare occasions a scene will have to be sent back and re-edited before it can be released on EA's website.
