Hello adrianofan121 and Mike Adriano thread. I just made this account after years of lurking this specific thread. I don't believe that is true. Evil Angel directors are the production companies of their content, Evil Angel just handles the distribution. So the director/performers are paying the female performers. The Freeman decision was predicated on the notion that Freeman wasn't pandering because he wasn't paying performers for sexual satisfaction but for the production of a sexually explicit product/content. Who was paying wasn't material but the fact that the sexual acts were being filmed.
In order to produce pornography in the state of California, legally, you must have a license. A license is only awarded to a functioning company with a Custodian of Records, that can be inspected for health violations, and so on. I am not trying to say that a director who appears in the scene may not have a financial stake in what is happening. We know for example that Mike's company is literally Mike Adriano Productions. As to whether the Constitution in fact does allow me to pay a sex worker and film it to protect it as speech, I am not making any claims about that. I am only talking about what the law is in California.
