30 bucks for a 60 day subscription doesn't seem that expensive to me.

If you're older and have a family, you can't log loads of time on these things like you did when you were younger, and the subscription costs/hour become high. The reason I mention it is you can always find a g\campaign to join online. If your buddy has experience with D&D it might be an alternative to a mmo. [Link] |

Wikipedia has a list of places and costs, and many are free (they make their money other ways). But I don't know anyone who's actually on them. We're older than their normal demographic.
