Jameson pointed out that facials are necessary because you have to have a "money shot" - the scene ends with footage of a man reaching orgasm. Because my reply is a bit broader than the original topic  I decided to start a new thread. My view is this: Most porn is viewed by men, so most porn should be directed to what men find sexy. To me, watching a man cum on a woman isn't sexy at all - actually, it's a little gross. On the other hand, watching and listening to a woman (truthfully) hit her climax is an amazing turn-on. It's not only exciting, but it caters to the male sense of accomplishment, too. Most pornos seem to suggest that at the point of penetration, women immediately reach an orgasm which lasts for the duration of the scene. While the guy does his thing, the woman produces unconvincing moans at the same volume and pitch throughout the entire scene. There's no actual climax for the woman - if Steph will forgive the analogy she's just a hole connected to a speaker. It's totally fake. I guess my point is that when I'm having sex, I'm tuned in to what excites my partner. And if I'm watching a porno film, I'm more interested in watching how the woman responds than the man. Instead, most videos may as well show a guy bonking a very attractive, inflatable doll with a dubbed-in female voice repeating "uh uh uh uh"... I think you see where I'm going here. I really think a great porno would show real sex instead of just two actors screwing. Most pornos pair up a guy with an enormous schlong and a woman with large breasts. All wrong! I'd much rather watch a man who was genuinely good at pleasing women actually satisfy a beautiful woman who expresses herself well. I couldn't agree more...When I'm watching a porno, my focus is about 30% on the womans body and about 70% on her facial Expressions and the sounds she's making (Unless her body is shaking ). In fact, I am usually bored by BJ's, cum shots, and tity F*$%#. The absolute best and most important thing in the scene is how much the woman is enjoying it. If I hear moans that are obviously not in sync with her own actions then I'm turned off. I don't want to hear someone else acting out the sounds, I want to hear and see her truley enjoying herself. A Female Masturbation scene can be the best part of the flick if she gets into it. It's funny how pornos will only show the woman enjoying herself once all the wires are in the right place ("she's just a hole connected to a speaker" )...and half the time it feels fake. One of the reasons that an "Erotic Story" can be entertaining is because the womans feelings are beeing imagined and don't have any bad acting or false audio syncs taking away from the apeal.
So, since I agree with your sentiments exactly, I have to ask you what you would recommend that has believable sex and is a "Turn on" because of it's real feeling. Lately, I've seen some good Amateur web sites because a REAL woman is way more attractive than a PERFECT/FAKEBOOBS woman. That's not to say that the REAL women aren't sexy or perfect, in my mind they are perfect. Do I need to stick with amateur movies to get authenticity? I want the girl next door. (She still need to be pretty though, just in a real way)

Yep, that's why I like amateur and pro-am so much. I've never known anyone personally that sounds like a porno actress from the opening bell. That's why I tend to believe that what insiders say is true: the women do not, in general, have an orgasm on the set. Of course, the starlets always answer "Yes! I always come!" when asked that question, but that's all PR BS. I know it's fantasy, but it always cracks me up to see performers turn it off and on in a split second (I've even seen people hold serious conversations on camera while doing the deed! )
If you really want to know what it's like, then watch some amateur stuff that doesn't have music in the background. Both parties are fairly silent until they get warmed up...

Great thread. Being new to this site, I must say it is kind of cathartic to talk about what I like and don't like in porn. Odd. Wouldn't have guessed it.
I agree with you sfsdfd. Close up shots in general do nothing for me. Those close up "clinical" shots from behind where all you can see is the penis entering a vagina does nothing for me. But when the camera pans back a little and you can see the woman's expression AND her being entered, it is incredibly sexy.
Three other things I hate in porn:
1) When a guy enters a girl, and there is no response from the girl. I.e. A guy enters a girl and she has no change of facial expression, or her body doesn't move at all, and you can just tell she has such a large vagina that nothing short of a 9 lbs. newborn falling out would evoke a feeling from her. I mean this is where acting comes in to play The best scenes to me are when a girl acts surprised or satiated after being penetrated, that hole loose thing turns me off. There is this scene in Andrew Blake's house of dreams where the main actress (cant remember her name) is fucked form the rear by Peter North, while she is eating out this curly black haired girl and there is absolutely no reaction from her, no little moans, or sense of friction or anything, very boring, and ruined the scene for me. To quote Ted Danson regarding having sex with Whoopi Goldberg he said "it was like throwing a hot dog down a hall way"...
2) Close up of guy's faces. Why the hell do they show these, they are utterly boring to me. I couldn't care less if the guy is having a good time, as you said its all about the girl. Hell if they cast more girls with strap-ons I'd be happy.
3) Cuming on her. I can see where this would be a niche market where some sort of fetishists like to see a guy cum on a girls ass/tits/mouth/pussy, but ALL movies? I don't understand this at all. I always just fast forward to the next scene when a guy is about to deliver the "money shot". Are we in some huge minority here? No one I know who watches porn like these either... Who exactly likes these shots, I just can't understand why they are so prevalent.
4) Dirty talk. Again I can see a fetish market for this, but the prevalence of "oh fuck me harder, oh yeah oh yeah" in almost every movie is mind boggling. I understand a lot of guys like to see hard core porn with money shots, big tits, and dirty talk, but I don't understand why the majority of movies are made like this.
I guess that's why I like the dirty debutante movies from Ed Powers so much. As you pointed out about amateur movies, they capture a realistic side of sex that is appealing, but unlike most amateur movies, most of the girls have great bodies and cute faces. I can't get into most amateur movies cause of the actresses are usually out of shape or unkempt in my opinion.

The downside to the Dirty Debs series is that you have to put up with watching Ed Powers trying to make witty conversation and then getting to screw the debutantes. Unless you're the type that sees himself as Ed, then I can't imagine how you'd be turned on by seeing a middle-aged, balding, soft body get lucky. At least Randy West is in pretty decent shape, even though he could be the father of most of the girls he works with.
