There have been a few notable exceptions: The Ass Collector I'm particularly impressed with the first two on that list, as well as a decent plot there's a real sexual tension and psychological edge to the films, rather than the usual run of the mill sex where the girl's grinning inanely at the camera. Can anyone recommend any other films like the above which have the afrementioned 'edge' to them? - I always thought it would be a great movie prospect if the same effort was put into a simple drama concerning a wife having an affair (ie it doesn't need to be some high concept mega budget pic - it can be a simple story, it just needs to have a little tension in it!!) I wasn't a big fan of it, but there were several purely idiosyncratic reasons for that. Here are a couple of reviews of varying viewpoints: My review of Falling from Grace Astro's Review of Falling from Grace Saki's Review of Falling from Grace Kobiata's Review of Falling from Grace Anyway... again, the titles mentioned by the others are ones that I would definitely recommend for a psychological edge and in some cases, some very intense material.
