Have been with them (MOVIXO) for a month and I am going to cancel (if I can find where to do it). The bogus deal of reporting your dvd as is "in the mail" and they send the next one out as of your reporting is just that, BOGUS. If you have'nt had the title long enough they won't let you report it as "in the mail".
I also am subsribed to Sugardvd and they are faster even from California to the East Coast by just putting it in the mail.
But this is not why I am canceling them (if I can?) All thier movies are "Bootlegs" , as most of you know most all dvd's that are more than 90 minutes or so or have a lot of extras (evil, elegant angel, Red light District, Zero Tolerance ,ect., ect.) are dvd-9 (dual layer) dics and average a bit rate of 5 to 9 mbps high quality bit rate with factory label and silver sided discs(around 9 gb). What You get from MOVIXO is purple sided dvd-5 recorable dvd +r discs with just writing on the face (no factory label) that have been shrinked with some god awfull program such as DVD-SHRINK that reduces the bit rate to fit a single layer disc (around 4.3 gb), the quality on some discs are simply unwatchable. One in Particular, Euro Domination (can't remember which one, 2 0r 3 I think)the bit rate was as low as 1 mbps (1000 kbps) which is lower than vcd!!! It was simply a bunch of fuzzy stair stepping type of blocks with no sharpness whatsoever. If you like the "REAL" dvd and not a poorly done copy (bootleg) then stay way away from MOVIXO.
On the other hand Sugardvd has had faster shipping , flawless dvd's....so far... that are original factory presses of silver sided dvd-9's with original picture labels that are the original 5 to 9 mbps bit rate. The only down side I have seen with Sugardvd is dvd's that are 2 to 5 or 6 months old are harder to get (longer wait). But still better than MOVIXO.....I had 52 movies in my que with MOVIXO and NONE were available and had to choose some really old crap, just to get a dvd out to me.
I have no interest in promoting Sugardvd (It's the only other rental I have used besides MOVIXO) Just thought I would give everybody a heads up on MOVIXO, Don't waste your money, they are slow, deal in bootlegs and to this point in time I have not found a way to cancel them.
Wish me luck, as I wander and search for a way to cancel them...This has becom a F&^#@ing nightmare.

Here is a letter I wrote Bushdvd that I was considering their service, According to them what Movixo is doing may even be illegal.
Anyone know anything about this, as I am having a lot of problems cancelling them and get the feeling they are going to try and charge me again.

My Letter to BushDvd:

Hello,
I am considering joining your rental site but have had some bad experiences. I have tryed 2 so far and can say I am pleased with sugardvd but they don't have a lot of what I am looking for. But, Movixo has been a nightmare, very hard to cancel and the reason I am canceling them is all their dvd's are copied to blue sided dvdr recordable +r which are all dvd-5 (4.3gb single layer) most of what I rented from them were evil angel productions which are dvd-9 (9gb dual layer) and the quality of these "bootlegs" were horrible.
I just wanted to know if you ship original silver sided dics from the manufacturer?
Thanks for any Information you can supply me,
Roxanne

Re: From BushDvd:

Hello Roxanne,

Thanks for the interest in our service.

We only carry original DVDs purchased directly from the studios. There are a few
small companies that burn their own DVDs because they don't sell enough copies,
for them to go to a duplicator. All the DVDs from major studios are DVD-9.
(Redlight uses a red disc to help make it easier to spot boot leg product.) What
Movixo is doing doesn't sound legal to me.

You can cancel our service at any time, by sending an email, calling our toll
free number or by using our cancellation form on the Account page.

Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call or email us.

Sincerely,

Johann

I was screwed by the DVD online rental company called www.mynaughtyrentals.

I signed up for the 14-day free trial back in November 2005. I had cancelled my free trial within the 14 days & had returned all my DVDs. I had emailed them before the trial was up to cancel. Never got a confirmation or anything at that time. They charged my credit card on December 1st for $19.99 and on January 1st for $19.99 (It appears on the credit card as NRCOM)I believe the company is out of Brooklyn, New York.

They sent me a confirmation of cancellation on January 7th, but it should have been on Nov 23. To make matter worst, BOTH their toll free numbers & their local number have been disconnected. Went thru hell trying to get them to credit my credit card.

I'm going to have to really be careful if I want to try another online service....
