No, I'd say the fact that it has been a HUGE haven for piracy is the reason. The mods were rarely if ever there.The key word here being "free", as in...download a few terabytes of porn for free. Marcus, is this new forum going to actually be moderated so that it's not 99% pirated material and 1% actual conversations?
I've been on it daily. I'm not a moderator, so I'm learning on the job. I've always been one for the discussions and debates, the "free porn" issue is one I realize can be monetize. If cats want to see the clip or scene mentioned in a discussion he/she should pay a small fee to view the entire clip in full. Now I ask..is that possible? Are there ways to give people what they want and produce a income in the process? If I'm out of line here, I pre-apologize. Like I said, I like the discussions and the debate more than the need to moderate those conversations, but over the years I realized the importance of having someone who would take the time to moderate a forum, especially a interracial and ethnic site that produces strong emotions. That's why I posted on the site the need for moderators, not just for the site, but also for the fact they are key to having a successful forum.

lol..hush hush nate use to be strr8 hating over there. Nate needs to understand that piracy is all over.. A lot of the links from mr. marcus forum came from another place. I mean mm forum is just 1 of thousands of sites you can go to and download. There is just no stopping it. The music industry is just another example, they tried all they could to stop piracy, throwing people in jail and shutting down sites until they just gave up and had no answers. hush entertainment is just about to go out of business. Or any and all products overall? During these searches I'm curious to see what you've learned. Finding a way to make money on what people are able to get for free is a challenge, but I think porn is a high demand product, just like with music, there has to be a way to warrant the charge that comes with premium product.
I was never over at the original MM forum but in just reading this thread i'll just jump in with a suggestion (albeit from someone who isn't in the know). Perhaps for stuff like hush hush for example, link to a short preview of scenes/movies on the website, and just link to where you can buy the whole thing. (don't know if hush-hush is set up like that though). Other sites may be a problem, but like here you can link to the main page or whatever. I will say though without moderators, the piracy will be there in full force no matter what. Its the nature of the beast. Just my observation from the outside.

The original sfbayvideos.com aka MMF has now effectively split into 3 different forums: www.ir-tube.com www.iloveblackcock.net (terrible name, if you ask me!!) www.mrmarcus.com/forum/ The original membership is split and traffic at those sites down to snail pace. Mr. Marcus and Londo-Cat need to have a discussion and endorse only one forum if they want to restore MMF to its former glory.
I agree exactly. Me and Londo plan to talk this week to channel the traffic to one site, preferably the MM Forum. Just so happened we had just finished setting up the mrmarcus.com/forum right at the time they created the other sites. People have a choice, I hope they continue to come to the MM Forum and have a good experience. The original board was started back in '99 and it really took off once moderators came on and kept everything moving. Londo came along and he really tightened the ship, I wish to do the same while using his guidelines.

1st off,the old MrMarcus Forum had evolved into an IR porn pirate file sharing site. Sex sells even when the economy is bad. The Internet killed DVD sales/rentals,put many adult video stores out of business. Those that survive dont get to eat steak too often. This is the second time someone has said something unpleasant on this thread. Why is it that people get reprimanded for saying unkind things about female performers, but posters are apparently allowed to say whatever they want about male performers?
