I saw "sinema" recently (philip mond director) and it was great because every scene had rock or new wave music during every scene...thereby eliminating the need to put on the stereo (which is what me and the wife typically do). I feel too many films and hence sex scenes do not have good music playing during the whole thing, and many do not have any music at all- so we supply it at home. It seems to make the mood a lot better. Can anyone list other films that have great music during the gonzo? I think more attention should be paid to that part of filmmaking. Theye the technology to have a good score and still audible some moans from the performers is there I beleive.
I couldn't agree more! I hate it when the music is lame, or rather when the filmmakers don't seem to have put much thought into it. But, likewise, I hate it when you can't hear the performers. My recent favorite for great music is Alexis Texas is Buttwoman - the music plays during the tease section, and then the sex starts (I can't remember if the music continues, but this juxtaposition worked for me). Not sure if it will be your kind of music, but I thought it was great. In fact, Mason/Sam No always seems to have bad ass music in her recent movies.
Yes, I never understood the hatred of music during sex scenes. Good scoring can make the scene much more powerful and to that extent, very little good scoring is going on these days.
Good scoring, sure. But who exactly do you think will compose good scores for porn? John Williams? In 99% of cases, they'll just insert some lame tune.. and that is highly, highly annoying. I was watching one old french flick recently (unfortunately, I forget the name) and the music was brilliant. It seemed like it was composed specifically for that scene as it was following the action perfectly. I don't see this happening in gonzo.
Just watched a rather bad movie ccalled FORVEVER IS THE NIGHT, which had a very good score, except during the sex scenes. BTW, said movie is based on an episode of THE TWILIGHT ZONE... Edited by - john lyons on 8/11/2009 12:48:22 PM

I remember The Taking of Christina having a great psych-rock score. Kimberly Kane's Triple Ecstasy, which I saw recently, had some good punk rock in the gonzo scenes. I'll also second the scores for Mason/Sam No and Willam H films. Jake Malone often does his own minimalist scores for his flicks as well. Good stuff.
That's because it's composed by Jack Malkan, who also scored THE DEFIANCE OF GOOD, etc. 70s films often had great scores, although they were often mixtures of library tracks and original pieces.
I was wondering about that - I kept wondering whether it was an original score. Well, original or not, I want that soundtrack playing in my car before the summer is over. I remember as a kid being able to hook up my tv and vcr to my stereo and record the video audio onto cassette. Now that technology has "progressed" I have no clue how to do this. I guess I have regressed...
