I just submitted my first review for ADT. Yes, I'll admit it, I've just been leeching until now. But hopefully, you will find some value in my review.
The review is for Oversexed Video Magazine #1 , and I intend to continue on with the other volumes. Because some of you don't know my preferences, I have put together a list of some of my biases (these may help you in fitting my reviews into your scheme of things):
* I love euro-chicks * I don't give a damn about a plot * I don't watch porn in one sitting * I like sexy outfits and shoes * I like attention to makeup and hair * I don't mind boob-jobs, as long as the breasts are positioned properly and the scars aren't awful * I love blowjobs, anal sex and toys * I'm not generally into prolonged gaping * I'm not a snob about sound quality/video quality * If I notice the music, it sucks * I don't generally mind overdubbed moaning
Anyway, after you see it, please leave me some feedback and let me know if it sucked or not.

It’s sufficient. I generally like just a little more, but combined with your bias list in this thread there is definitely sufficient information to judge and make my own adjustments.
A critical factor for me is an overall rating, or star rating, mixed with the comments of what was liked, and what was not. (Of course ADT requires a star rating value for reviews submitted and I like that. It frustrates me on other sites when there is no overall rating.)
Short and sweet. I liked it. A nice job of condesing all the basic information you need in a review. That said I would have to agree that a little more detail would be helpful.
I am counting on you to find some hidden gems out there for me aybesea, since it seems we have similar tastes, so keep those reviews coming buddy.
Nice review. It was concise but effective. Being a simple-minded individual, I generally prefer a scene listing to highlights/lowlights but if you cover all the scenes in the highlights/lowlights then that's effective too.
Thanks for the feedback. I will make some adjustments:
1) I will hit on all of the scenes, not just lowlights/highlights (thanks rieekan)
2) I will provide more detail on each scene (thanks DD & GM)
What I don't intend to do (unless you guys really want me to) is a play by play of each position. I personally skim past this stuff. It is far more important to me to get the "feel" of the scene instead of a technical analysis.
Also, I felt obliged to provide the "ground rules" I started this thread with. I personally wish others could do the same. I could post this in each review I do, but I feel it would be more effective if I could just provide a link in the reviews. Steph, could you help me to facilitate this?

Nope, I don't think we need a laundry list.
Also remember we are making suggestions, and things that we like. You've done a good job already, so just make sure that it is your style, that you are comfortable with and enjoy writing.

Thanks Don. My biggest question is would that review be useful to a potentially interested customer? Would it help to guide a purchase decision? That is my goal.
Loved the review, another overall of a 5 for a film that more than deserves it. Glad you enjoyed it as much as I did.
The format was great, easy to follow.
I think that the aybesea's Whackmeister Seal Of Approval! is very cool.
Plus, I love the conclusion, simple and to the point: This disc is incredible. It's replay value is huge. If this doesn't get you off, you must be dead! An absolute must.
Can't wait to read some more, keep UP the good work.

You gave it a personal touch, and comments on what you liked in each scene including a whack factor rating.
The whole thing about reading reviews to assist in making buying decisions is a learning process. I have read many astroknight and HoustonDon reviews (just to name two) and then bought some movies only to find that I didn’t like them. But some of the purchasing mistakes simply pointed out where I differed from them and I learned to read their reviews and the information they provide and make my own adjustments for future purchases. But I never stopped reading their reviews.
I think you’ve done a good job, and injected a personal flair into the reviews.
This goes back to the idea of putting reviewer tastes into the reviews themselves. I re-did my Fast Times at Deep Crack High #6 review, and added both my list of tastes, as well as vid-caps. Steph was kind enough to repost it for me. Steph suggested that in the future I just link to my tastes, so that they don't push the actual review so far down the page for people who are browsing at 80 hex 600 (not everyone runs 160 hex 1200 with a 21" monitor I guess....:), and I'll probably do that for the next review.
Aybesea, I like your Flesh Hunter Review--to the point and informative. Mine have more laundry list elements, but I enjoy doing that, and I've tried to format it such that people can take what they want from it and ignore what they don't want.
With regard to the vidcaps... do you guys like to see cumshots? I don't know, vid-caps are so much work that I wouldn't do them if I didn't ENJOY doing them... so I try to pick pictures I like. :) I know that some reviewers have said they don't like including hardcore vid-caps, but I guess... if I was reading them, that's what I'd want to see. I don't know. What do you think?
Thanks DD, BigMike and MLyons. I feel pretty comfortable with this format, so I will continue. I'm expecting two new Private DVDs this week, Love Is In The Web and Fever . I will review them both after I get a chance to watch them. Also, I may do another review of Center Of Sex since I'm not sure I agree with the ones that have been posted thus far.
Personally, my favorite vidcaps are the ones that show a full shot of the lady, perhaps with some of the surroundings. Gives me more of a feel for the scene than just a face full of spooge.
DD, as you can see from my review, I did like Fever . I'm still twiddling a little with my review style as well. It feels "forced" in spots. I need to get into the rhythm, so to speak.
Anyway, I received Love Is In The Web in the same shipment, so I'll be reviewing that one shortly. Since its Kovi, I assume that it will fare well, but I haven't watched it yet. Fever was enough for one night.
You know, I never would have believed it, but since I've become an ADT regular, I've accumulated a backlog of DVDs. When I first started posting here, I would read statements like that and think "yeah - right!" But I really do. I've got 3 unwatched Jules DVDs, 3 unwatched Private DVDs, and another 6 on the way! Too much porn, too little time! I'd like to regulate my buying by saying that I'll review all of my new purchases, but I think I know better than that. We'll see.

Keep 'twiddling' with your style. But keep it something you're comfortable with. Your last two I think have been very good, easy to read and get your points. Also the 'personal' points you toss in.
Like you, I've got a backlog of DVD's, and I have two more orders on the way to add to the backlog.
Oh well, who knows. Maybe I'll get to raincoatter status some day.
