Now I do agree she could use to gain a few pounds.
However she looks far from anorexic based on my
experience. To be honest I bet she weighs more than
my wife does and take my word my wife doesn't skip
any meals (however she does workout for 1-2 hours daily).

As far as blaming the directors, I say hogwash.
You might as well blame society as a whole then, as
I can't turn my television on for more than 10 minutes without
seeing someone who looks like a much more likely candidate
for anorexia than Naomi is.

I guess I just don't understand the criteria for these award nominations.

I get that there is gonna be some lag between the process and the award presentation, but come on.

This is Jan. 07. I first saw Porn Valley, pro flicks featuring Naomi in the summer of 2005. And I'm just a regular porn schmo with no insider priviledge to see things first, so that means they were shot MONTHS before that. And she's been shooting non-stop ever since. I think she's up to about 8 million scenes she's appeared in. Hell, I've got about 20 or 30 myself and they were all when she still looked like a healthy, human being. You guys all know how I like 'em thick. Smile. Which means they were all shot in 2005. Cuz by Jan 2006, I was already off the bandwagon, as the weight was obviously falling off. Seeing someone that's been in the pro porn biz close to two years, getting the newbie award is kinda strange. Maybe it's just me. I guess since I was on her at the beginning 18 months ago and been moved on from her for over a year distorts my view.

And speaking of that weight, I don't know why anyone here is surprised. That news and that trend for her is a year old now. Folks were in here commenting on it last fall, here. So this ain't no new news.

When she started and the Evasives, and West Coasts, and Bang Bros, were breaking her, and all the big butt lovers fell for her, she was as fine and healthy as anything going. Then the big boys got hold of her, her dance card got to overflowing and all the anal started, and the weight started falling off. And it's been one long march to waifdom since. And it ain't like she was big to begin with. And those of us that were concerned six, eight months ago, were told, she's fine, she's alright, she looks great, shaddup.

I do have to say that deicide would know better than I do about Naomi and anorexia, though it does look a bit worrisome for her. But I do have to say that we all agree that the guys who give the unsolicited comments that such and such girl needs to lose some weight, in very tactless ways, are big jerks. But I also find the smug self-righteousness of armchair psychologists who are so quick to tag strangers with eating disorder diagnoses a bit irritating. Not so much with this case, but with other girls who lose a little weight or who were thin to begin with. Some girls can just be thinner than others and still be healthy in both mind and body.

Her weight loss issues aside, Naomi was the right choice for Newbie of Year. I recall back in early 2006 I wasn't excited about buying anything--until "Naomi, There's Only One" came along and I had to have it. And loved it!

Then it seemed like she was in everything, working for everbody from Red Light to Vivid to Digital Playground. Most of which I brought. Including gonzo porn--which I don't usually buy. And I don't think I'm alone. I think she got many of fans back to buying sexvids, and regular buyers to expand what they buy. Everybody wants to see that Big Ass in action.

I believe AVN, whatever its motivation, got it right this time. She deserves her award.

I think that what has us all concerned, is Naomi's dramatic loss of weight, and a general concensus that it has gone too far and that she doesn't look well.

Most people here are voicing their opinions because they care. NOT because they are looking to knock Naomi personally.

I loved her early work better, loved her big butt.

I like listening to her in the BTS, she has an innocent, almost naive quality about her.

I remember during one BTS, she was asked about her loss of weight, and she said (if I can remember correctly) that she had just been losing weight regularly since she started doing porn.

I loved her original body, I can't believe any porn producers or directors would want her to lose weight, but Jewel would have a better idea of the pressures to lose weight for porn performers.

It does scare me a bit seeing the recent pictures of her, I wish her all the best
