Vista Ultimate & Nero Home/Scout
They don’t really play nice together. Every time I boot up my Vista computer, I get an error, stating Nero Home has “stopped working” and needs to be closed. That’s fine, but why did anything Nero related start up in the first place?!
I also have quite some entries of nmindexstoresvr .exe in my performance and reliability monitor, for Vista. Turns out, that process and Nero Scout/Home, are one and the same. In order for me to fix those errors, I had to digg into the whole Nero Package, to see where and what was referenced. It became clear, that problems related to burning multiple discs, and the error at startup, were all due to this nmindexstoresvr .exe file.
Just deleting the file will solve nothing, because the errors will persist, in different syntax. This is because it wants to load the file, but it isn’t there. The correct manner to resolve this issue, is to open up Nero Scout, and disable the service. That’s it!
I’ve burned some discs, and it’s all working flawlessly. Guess I don’t need that Home service anyway!
