| Bobcat Senior Member 1490 Posts 2/08 | Looking to buy a netbook, 10 inch screen. They all seem very similar and I can't see any reason not to buy the cheapest one, which is the ASUS R101 with the intel atom 450 processor. Any thoughts? [Link] |

The 11" is a no brainer, OK you may have to save some money to buy it, but it's a worthwhile investment. |

| Joey Starr Senior Member Still wanking after all these years. 8082 Posts 10/00 | My eMac is still going strong after six years or thereabouts, I expect to use my MacBook Air for many years. Some people prefer saving a bit and eat at a fine restaurant, rather than having three meals a day at Mc Donald's. Life is too short. Edited by - Joey Starr on 10/25/2010 2:38:44 PM |

But I would suggest not settling for one that only has 1 GB of RAM, and you might want to consider spending more to get one that has an SSD instead of a conventional mechanical harddrive. |
| greg Member Thinking real hard about Katsirk 793 Posts 12/06 | I couldn't do turbo tax wit it either, something to do with the bit/screen size etc {I am no PC expert user so terms could be wrong}. Long story short I went back to the conventional lap top, and put it along with the netbook on a DSL connection. The netbook is easier to handle sitting in a recliner etc...but I along with the misses will grab the regular laptop first, probably just a matter of routine or habit being the reason. The netbook is just the other PC if one of us needs it at the same time. Here is the July 09 thread about mine. |
