I'd suggest it's not necessarily racism; when producers sit down to decide what movies they want to shoot, it's not like they're thinking "hrm, we need to do a new title that features only white girls." They're thinking "hrm, what movies are going to sell? Lets do a series on girls with big butts/big breasts/two girls on one guy." He picks a shtick and runs with it, finding girls who match that theme. I believe the apparent demand for more white girls in porn than black is actually a reflection of porn consumers; more white men buying porn than black men. I tried to find some statistics to support that, but there's not a lot of data on the net, perhaps someone else has that information; but if you walk into a high end strip club, you see the same thing; two white men to every non-white. The good news is that trend seems be shifting slowly, as sales go from bookstores to online sales, and I believe that'll mean increased demand for black girls (with both other black men and men of other colors) over the coming ten to twenty years. What I took from his comment was that, Blacks represent a much smaller percentage of the U.S. population (i.e. 12.8%), therefore, the "demand" for Black performers would be expected to be lower than for Whites and Hispanics -- thus, "their experience is different." Something to consider... The overall racial makeup in porn is not all that different than in the U.S. population in general. This absolutely makes sense from a marketing standpoint if you think about it. Census quick facts  (a) Includes persons reporting only one race. (b) Hispanics may be of any race, so also are included in applicable race categories. My biggest complaint concerning Black women in porn is that, so many of their credits are in Black-only product, which I have little interest in watching. Put the Black girls in non-niche "mainstream" porn, and I'm a happy stroker. (Yes, I understand that the girls don't have much control over this.) I'm a White male, and my "bias" is I like to see White studs doing the fucking. Frankly, I think this is the real racial divide in porn. I think men prefer to see studs of their own race/ethnicity fucking the girls. All -- and I mean all -- that matters to me (and I think to the majority of men) is that, the girls be attractive, perform well enough and, most importantly, appeal to me (or them) personally. Variety is also important to most strokers. This is another reason why Black-only product doesn't interest me. And here we get back to what sells in the marketplace. In the overall porn industry, Black women would be expected to have a 10-20% share. I think they probably do (especially when you factor in the Black-only niche product). Now, personally, I'd like to see more Black girls in the mainstream porn mix. If studios would produce more White male/Black female product, I'd be a happy stroker. I'd be happy with as much as a 30% share of Black girls in the mainstream porn mix. But, why should there be any percentages in the mix at all, one might ask? Bottom line: it just has to be to work in the marketplace. Well, what about basketball? Blacks account for a disproportionate share of NBA players. Why shouldn't porn be like sports and the military -- where skills and ability determine who makes it? Reality: we don't whack-off to sports figures, or people in most professions for that matter. There are professions where physical attractiveness means as much or more than skills, ability and talent. Take television, movies, stripping, cheerleading and, yes, porn for example. The best, of course, usually have skills, ability, talent and attractiveness. The cream also have the undefinable "star quality." Say, for example, what is it -- exactly -- that makes Jenna Haze such a superstar? In any event, sometimes an observation is just an observation ("a cigar is just a cigar"). A white female never has to do IR to become a top star A black girl must do IR to be noticed.... period. if she doesn't she will not be noticed. Also because of the saturation of black females now getting into the business you don't have a large window of time before you have been passed over for the next new girl, so a hot white girl with the automatically larger fan base to begin with is off and running immediately while the black girl has to grow her fan base from a more limited number of fans.
