I have seen some of the Pat Myne ones and they so rock. I have only heard good things about Bridgette and Britney's stuff. I like their spirit. PXP is also very interesting, esp. with Brandon Iron on the loose. And Mason's psychosexual intensity. My fave remains Evil Angel, and my fave director Joey Silvera. However, I am wanting to see more hybrid gonzo/scenario/plot films these days, which is why folks like Guy Capo, Mason and the John Stagliano of "Fashionistas," interest me so much and is what I'm going to begin focusing my "porn activism" on. Rocco hasn't put out a movie that was good top to bottom in what seems like a year. Joey's stuff has good hard action, but most of the girls are fat or ugly, his Rogue Adventures series still rocks though. Nacho's had one good movie with them: Back 2 Evil, the rest including his latest Sex Thriller isn't very good. John Leslie has the prettiest euro girls in his movies, but the cameras shaking too often, questionable lighting and angles, and the heat just isn't there often enough. Jules early stuff for them was good, but his more recent stuff is nothing special and boring. Other than Fashionistas, Back 2 Evil, and Joey's Rogue series, they havn't done much to impress me at all lately. The male talent they use is also not quite what it used to be. It's too bad because I really dig a lot of there stuff from a couple of years ago. I'm hoping they start putting out some better movies soon.

Zero Tolerance - Blew me away with the Blow Me Sandwich, Double Decker Sandwich, Strip Tease Then Fuck, Grand Theft Anal, Who's Your Daddy?, Internal Combustion and Ass Cleavage series. Just when you think one of those can't better, the next installment fucking shames it. Way to raise the bar and get consistently better with each release. The casts being put together nowadays are fucking amazing. Greg Alves, Wendi Knight and the rest of you are outdoing yourselves each time out. 2. Platinum X Pictures - Don't even sweat being #2 Brandon, Jewel, Mason & Co., it's so fucking close it's sickening, you may as well call it a tie for #1! After I see Full Anal Access #2, I'm sure you'll slide right into that slot, no pun intended. Believe me, I am just as enamoured with the Ultimate Asses, Euro Girls Never Say No, Fresh New Faces, Teens Revealed, Sinful Asians and Interracial Lust series as anything else I've mentioned. Phenomenal work all around from every director and performer there. 3. DVSX - The Double Parked, Truly Nice Tits, Truly Nice Ass, Teen Sensations and Sakura Tales series all get major play around here. Someone must hook me up with a way to contact Nancy Sweet! I'll be doing my best to check out more Evolution Erotica, Sineplex and Fusxion titles in the very near future. I wouldn't want to deprive myself of anything. Porn is definitely in the midst of a gonzo renaissance and I for one am glad it came along when it did. The only unhappy people are going to be my wife and wallet! Also, New Sensations are impressing me as of late. I just wish everyone would stop using the same type of design for their boxcovers, geez! I was not blown away by what I have seen, but I think the companies are a move in the right direction. DVSX's website is killer. And Mike Quasar seems to be one of the most congenial auteurs in the biz. I only have so much cash, and Evil, RLD, Ana/Dia, and PXP seem to "drain it all." If anyone can suggest an ultimate ZT title, I'm game. The first Who's Your Daddy was only so-so (I got it for Boo's scene, and that rocked -- but a lot seemed very routine). I guess I'm just a diehard for PXP, and not everything from them has blown me away, either, but I like that they are trying to do things a little differently, a little more freakier, a little more creatively -- just as Evolution seems to be doing. On the whole, I think this wing of porno is at a peak. The only problem is so much overlap between the actors and the types of lines. If anything, I'd love to see more directors as idiosyncratic as Brandon, Mason and Guy Capo [and Chico M'F'n Wang] -- let's see some dope, guns and fucking in the streets, people! It is unreal how different the face of pornography is now then it was then. Back then Extreme Associates, Anabolic/Diabolic, and Zane absolutely ruled the hardcore world for me. Now, everyone else is a step below Evil Angel and Red Light District to me but there is a shitload more competition now. I feel the same as the guy earlier in that this only lightens my wallet, though I'm lucky to get some rentals for free for a site I review films for. However, the newest companies (or at least new to me) of note are: Digital Sin-This subset of New Sensations is supposedly. I just rented "Erotica XXX #4" for Dana Vespoli. I shall see how good they are. Exquisite Pleasures-They picked up Rodney Moore from OGV and took a chance on Max Hardcore, but I don't care about either of them. It's the work they are getting from Bionca Seven and Justin Slayer that is really hot. "Big Tit Brotha Lovers," "Slayer Unleaseshed," and "Black Pipe Layers" are promising new series from this company. Let me put it this way. I used to look at WestCoast as the best in interracial. Well, I just checked out "Chasing the Big Ones 19" along with "Big Tit Brotha Lovers." The WestCoast tape probably had slightly better lighting, but the younger companies work was infinitely hotter. Also, I'm looking forward to Exquisite's upcoming interracial teen line "Teenage Brotha Lovers." Acid Rain-I am not sure if this is a new company or, similar to Digital Sin, just a subset of Rain Video. They haven't even released their first tape yet. However, it might be pretty good. Either way, it looks to be completely different than the tame crap from Rain Video like "Taped College Confessions." Cherry Boxxx/Baby Doll Pictures-I don't know how good they are because I don't like their boxes and am disturbed by the way in which they churn out compilations and present them as if they were new scenes. However, that might be more of a Dreamland Video thing. I am looking at Nov. 26 and "All About the Ass" featuring Nautica Thorn and Alex Devine as the first one I might check out. Standard Digital-Again, I have no clue how god they are or how prolific they will be. However, "El Porno Loco," with the red-hot Jennifer Luv on the cover, looks pretty good. EvolutionErotica-I just have not been enamored with any of their casts yet, but what I've seen as been good. "Teen Meat Vol. 1" with Haley, Holly Day, and Amber Rain was unbelievable. I noticed the new Fuxion line under Metro. Interesting to see what happens there. For me, though, the current porn economy consists of RedLightDistrict, PlatinumX, and Evil Angel. Extreme Associates imploded, Anabolic/Diabolic is just now re-gearing, Zane is defunct, and Elegant Angel is sputtering. Other new companies I like are ZeroTolerance, not bad, and DVSX, pretty good though I wish they would cast more American girls.

I thought they were very well-produced with good packaging and extras. I just found that other studios seemed to produce "hotter" action in similar scenes (not sure why, really) and seemed a little less formulaic. Perhaps another way of saying this is that, for a gonzo/all-sex type company, the movies are the most couples-oriented in the genre. I could get away with watching them with a new girlfriend or date, I think (though, it seems, all the girls I know prefer the intensity of "Fashionistas"-style sexing -- I mean, to watch in a video! My name is not Rocco! ). But the titles I viewed were the first volume of Sakura Tales, and the first Gang Bang Darlings, and maybe a Truly Nice Ass. I haven't seen any of the most recent ones. What would you recommend for a hardcore gonzo guy like me? My tastes run to everything that is raw and spontaneous or at least choreographed to achieve that effect, young girls, natural tits (where applicable by law), lots (and lots) of oral sex, a little ass-plugging, multi-partner, internal and external cumshots, all colors, creeds and bodytypes but bootylicious is always nutricious. I did rent Alex Ladd's double parked and notice they use a lot of soft round reflectors when outdoors. It is gonzo video but it gave that couples feature feel. Don't get me wrong they are on the right track and think they are a good company.But I like harder edge companies like RLD, PXP, Zero Tolerance, and Evil Angel. [Link] |
