I'm not directing this towards Mac, but just the whole porn retirement announcement concept in general. Fans really don't care one way or another if a performer comes and goes between civilian and porn life. I think at least some pornstars feel the need to proclaim they're moving on to "better" things and are proud and want everyone to know. One pornstar I'm thinking of in particular (not Mac)seems to spend much of her time trying convince people she's moving on to better things and sorta implies she's above the whole porn thing that she keeps coming back to. That's fine and good for her I'm pretty sure most casual fans don't care. Really there's no need for the big formal annoucements that lets fans know they're done "forever". But then again I have to assume that most fans never hear of these retirements anyway. Before I started coming to this site I had no idea whether a pornstar had retired or not. They keep showing up in scenes long after their gone. If I didn't come to this site it would take a long to before I realized many of the girls had quit. The main problem is so many of the girls see porn as some sort of horrible thing they need to get away from and that things will be so much better once they're out. Then some find out that the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Then there're the girls who give it up for relationship reasons. To each is his own but I've always thought it's unfair to ask or demand a woman stop doing anything she likes or wants to do just because you have a problem with it. She'll resent you for it and it'll eventually cause problems. If you can't handle what a pornstar/stripper/whatever does perhaps you shouldn't get into a relationship with that person. I know things aren't usually that easy and cut and dry but these things often just don't work in the end. In the end I just hope the girls are happy.
