I was doing some comparisons on titles and prices, preperation for my next order if you will, and noticed on a few titles their prices seem especially competitive. example.
I'm wondering if anyone here has had any experiences with ordering from them to International destinations, ie packaging, shipping time, and so forth.
I've also emailed them to ask about their shipping - their website says:
But doesn't mention whether this applies to international orders or not, or more importantly if the $6.99/disc international shipping applies to the comp. Sadly the free shipping only applies to US residents.
While I find their shipping rates a bit steep, especially for larger orders, on single/specific titles which they're a lot cheaper on they look like they could be a valid choice.
Thanks, I'm giving them a try and I've just placed an order for one disc.
Just one thing, their payment page refuses to believe anybody using the web lives outside the United States and won't let you specify international shipping.
I can't believe it, they listed I Swallow 13, 14 and 15 in-stock. These are the only 3 volumes I still need to complete my I Swallow collection. At most stores these 3 movies are out of print for a long time. I ordered these and at the check out I didn't get a shipping rate eventhough I replaced USA with Netherlands in the country box. So maybe free shipping also includes Europe after all. I'm still waiting for the confirmation mail. I just hope I don't get an e-mail from them about these movies being out of stock after all.
Well I'm not sure how I feel about them not sending me a confirmation e-mail about registering an account with them and then also no confirmation e-mail about my order of 3 DVD's. I hope the order goes oke though!
Well the status so far would be I didn't get any confirmation e-mails about registering my account and then making an order. When I log into my account at the site I only see the 3 DVD's I ordered, no status if it's already send or not or if the movies are in stock or not. I guess I will just have to wait and see what happens.
I have sent them an email asking about more information and got an answer within a couple of hours (on a Sunday!). Have ordered 3 DVDs for the free shipping offer and will let you know how it goes.
The prices are excellent but the site still needs some improvement.
These guys are starting to worry me. I placed an order on tuesday for an in-stock item and they haven't acknowledged my order or sent it off yet. On the plus side neither have they charged my credit card.
I sent them an e-mail yesterday (sunday) querying the status of my order and have yet to receive a reply. I wasn't concerned until I read the post above by brasilfan who got a reply to his e-mail within "a couple of hours".
I did not get any confirmation email about my order either but they have clearly advised me that they do in fact ship the DVDs together with the cover prints (a must for me as serious collector) and they even sent me a second email advising me that I would qualify for the free shipping option, if my order would be more than USD 50.
I have clearly specified that I live in Germany and that discreet packaging would be paramount.
As I said, their site needs still some improvement as far as stock information, order confirmation and availability of pictures are concerned. However, I guess I could live with the current flaws, if they send orders on time and for free. The prices offered are unbeatable in my eyes! Add to that the favourable currency rate Euro to Dollar and I might just order some larger numbers from them. I especially like the fact that buying only about 3 DVDs would qualify for free shipment. Usually I had to buy about 200 Dollars worth of DVDs to have that and when customs intercepts such a shipment it is a big loss.
So, if they get their stuff right, this could be the shop of choice for European buyers to save on shipping costs and take advantage of the low Dollar rate.
I got a reply from them a couple of hours after I sent my e-mail, their reply:
"Hi Ramsey, Your order has been processed and I am awaiting shipping notification from the warehouse. I will let you know as soon as I get a shipping notification. Real-time shipping status updates with confirmation numbers will be available shortly from within the "My Account" section of our website."
I still wonder how they got the 3 volumes of I Swallow because they have been our of print for more than a year now. I'm very happy to still find them because they are truly collectors-items for Rodney Moore fans.
Athos, I' suggest that your email sent on a Sunday probably took awhile to get a reply because was sent on a Sunday. Hopefully you did recieve a reply in the end?
Ramsey, to clarify, you're saying that your order placed on the 25th of Jan still had not shipped as of the 1st of Feb? 8 days and still not shipped seems a touch ..excessive to me. I'm used to having my orders in hand after that long from US-Au. Hopefully they do in fact have your Rodney DVDs in stock.
Yes I did get a reply to my email, 36 hours later, apparently I'll receive a "shipping notification" "within the next few days".
Just to clarify, the point I was making was that another member emailed them on a sunday about placing an order and got a reply within "a couple of hours". I email about an existing order it takes 36 hours for a reply.
Current situation: after 9 days I'm still waiting for an item that was supposedly in stock.
I'm not suggesting that you haven't been waiting an unusual amount of time compared to the retailers I (and many of us) usually buy from. I'm suggesting you don't get too bent out of shape regarding an email sent on a weekend.
Look at it this way ~ Flixes may or may not work on Saturday, and probably have at least Sunday off. You're in the UK. So first of all, you're 8 hours ahead of them. So if you send an email on Sunday, it reaches them Saturday night. I think it's pretty safe to say that Flixes aren't open (or checking emails) on Saturday nights. Add a 24 hours for Sunday, a few hours overnight on Sat/Sun and you more then likely have an email answered in turn from the large amounts that I assume they get over the weekend. See? More than likely nothing sinister.
On the other hand, I agree that waiting 9 days for an order that was "in stock" to be shipped doesn't seem all that peachy to me, either. Especially as it was only one DVD...
That's a shame about your Rodney DVDs, Ramsey, though at least they did try to offer you something else at a good rate. Just a shame their turnaround seems to take quite awhile just to find something like that out.
Yesterday I was very pissed off because I REALLY got my hopes up for the 3 movies and I really thought they had them in stock but they were nice enough to offer me the extra DVD's so I will accept that instead of the refund. It was not fair of me to already write them off just because of what happened.
Btw, before I accept the DVD's I have written them back asking if they also ship the artwork or just the discs. I don't understand what they mean on their site when it comees to this.
Hi scipio, im from Australia, about 1.5 hours from Melbourne! I am looking at getting some DVD's from 'Adult DVD Today' after doing a search on here. Do you reccomened them? If not who would you recommend?
Sorry to hijack the thread, just wanted some aussie advice!
Progress report on my order: It's now day 16 and no despatch yet. There was apparently a problem with my credit card when they came to charge it on friday. Still, I took this as a hopeful sign! I didn't see the e-mail till saturday morning and had to wait until monday evening our time (10.00am in LA) before I could phone them, so 3 days lost.
No worries Travis, welcome to ADT. I'm in Melbourne myself, so I guess you might add a day to my usual ADToday delivery times. They get my current highest reccomendation for Australian orders, usually taking 7 days from my ordering, but in some cases it's been as little as 5 days from my placing the order to having it in my hand.
Athos ..what day on the count-o-meter was Friday when they went to (try to) charge your card?
I sent an e-mail two days ago about the replacement DVD's I want, after that I didn't hear anything back so I'm not sure if they have shipped it yet or not. I will report back as soon as I know something more.
Taking the day of the order as day 1 then last Friday was day 11.
Now day 17 and yesterday they told me they have run out of the title I was after and asked me to either choose a replacement (higher value) or be refunded. I've opted to choose a replacement, hope this is wise.
When they offer a higher value replacement are you also being charged the higher amount? I have to admit that I am starting to get very concerned after reading this thread and the one in the shopping forum. I am aware that Flixes used to also sell under different names in the past through other websites and the feedback that I have received has not been positive.
It sounds to me like out of all of the orders discussed here in the forum not a single person has received the items they ordered, or possibly any items at all, from Flixes. This is unacceptable.
To my knowledge no. I suppose it's just extra service for all the trouble and because their in-stock status is not up to date.
If I had known this I'm not sure I would have ordered with them. Steph wrote "Our experience so far in dealing with them is very good" so I thought I would give them a try and also because I thought they had the 3 volumes of I Swallow in-stock. I still hope everything will work out fine.
I will e-mail them tonite and I will ask them if they have shipped my 4 DVD's yet.
Another update: I received message from them about 1 title being not in-stock and if I wanted to wait or change the title. I gave them a new title and 2 other titles just in case the one I want is not in-stock. They should ship the package today or tomorrow.
Now day 23 in the saga of my order and I've just had an e-mail saying they've "been unable to process a charge against my credit card" and can I call them urgently with an alternative or "my order will be cancelled".
This is the second time they've done this and I won't be phoning them again as I just don't care any more.
Seriously considering a trade embargo with the U.S.
Athos mate, look a few posts up in this thread and you'll see my post mentioning favorite, most reliable, fastest store to order from in the US.. worst it's ever taken is 7 days from ordering to my hand.
I've been watching this thread over the past few weeks and thought that since I ordered from Flixes as well, that I should post how it went.
I ordered 3 titles on February 3 and received an email confirming the order the following day. By February 14 I was suspicious, so I emailed them, and they said "a few more days." A package from them arrived the day after that, containing 2 of the titles I'd ordered and a Post-It note saying that the other title was shipping soon.
Also included in the first part of my shipment was an extra disc -- their website says that if you order a title over $10 that they'll send a randomly selected 4- to 8-hour disc from the same category for free. This part turns out to be false; the bonus disc I got wasn't from the same category (not even close), so I just threw it away since I knew I'd never watch it.
It's now February 18 and the last title I'd ordered still isn't here yet. But at least I got something out of them, where others seemingly have not.
Definately not speaking as a moderator, but totally as a fellow International Shopper, I'd suggest giving these guys a miss after reading through this thread and the corresponding thread in the Shopping Info forum.
Sorry, but there are just too many stores out there that consistantly show that they do care about their business, and their International customers to bother with someone who seemingly doesn't.
When Steph mentioned that she told them about this thread, I had hoped for some interation with Flixes staff, as so many other companies have taken the time to do, now and again, (especially when they first join ADT) but I guess that's not liklely to happen if it hasn't happened by now.
as promised, I just wanted to let you know that my order arrived today. Very well and discreetly packaged with two 4 hour compilation DVDs for free. It took them a while longer, the communication can be improved, as can the web site and order status information. However, for 17,99 USD for a Evil Angel DVD (Hell Cats #5, Big Natural Tits #12, Feeding Frenzy #4) plus free shipping and a free compilation DVD (I received two for the wait), I will definitely not complain!°
We should give them a chance, as I believe the competitors have possibly not started perfectly either.

Now, I'm not a patience person, but it looks like they are new to the bussiness or something, so I give them a few chances, and I think it might be good.
I live 2 state from them. We'll see when the "new shipment" of the dvds gets here...
I'll update. And yes, it's been 2 month, haha.
If if does, I'm planning to get more from them.
I wrote all of these in the morning, and this one too, so I'm tired and this is my order story from Flixes. Also, you can see which email they uses and which one doesn't work.
