Long time no post.
Tired to search around for this...

What's the best way to get rid of that new toy smell? I got a new toy for my girl, but it smells too strong so we haven't used it. We washed it, used some baking soda, aired it out, but it still smells. Any suggestions?
Thanks

What material is it made of? That might help someone provide an answer.

Oooooh, I hate that new toy smell. I keep my stuff on a little table in the adjoining bathroom at night (or in the bathroom drawer), so I am not sleeping with those things near my head.

this was the worst one. Urghhhhhh. I washed it, aired it aout, all kinds of things, but, ickkkk, nothing would ever have worked with that thing.

I guess its rubber (dildo).
Not silicone, but I'm not sure.

If it's a flexible dildo it probably is some kind of silicone rubber. I'm not sure if that smell ever goes away. I just checked a dildo that has been out of the package for months and it still has a fresh vinyl smell, the same smell as my swimming pool liner.

BTW: I also got this cotton candy pink 8" one for her, but that was too big. Never used, any ideas on what to do with it? I'd hate to just throw it away.

It doesn't have to be inserted. Is it a dildo or a vibrator?

I liked these dildoes better NOT inserted. Nice weight. For instance, maybe nice to drag one around, lick her a little, drag it around some more...

As far as vibes, I'm don't use them often, but when I do use them it's usually just a couple of minutes as a playful thing, one of the nicest (also NOT insertion) is to put it between my thighs while my husband is in a spoon position and also not inserted, and it vibrates my thighs and labia and his dick.

Just tease and play. You don't have to insert anything to reach erogenous areas.

Thanks Lindi.
We already have some other toys to play with in that way. The nice folks at DVDEmpire gave me credit that I used for some other dildos and vibrators for her. Anyway, right now I'm still using Baking Soda and it seems to have gotten rid of a little smell. Overall that thing's smell still repels us more then anything else. A shame to since it looked perfect for her.
