Cant turn it off, cant do anything but remove the battery and restart. I have read on another forum that others have had the same problem. | LubeNLuv Senior Member 1854 Posts 3/06 | I've read that sometimes cleaning the lens contacts can help...just use a Qtip dipped in iso alcohol. Not sure if the D90 accepts firmware upgrades but if so you could also do a re-install of the current version and see if that helps. Once they started sticking computers into cameras, lockups were an inevitable byproduct. |
| Proxy Member 38 Posts 5/09 | As suggested, update the firmware, clean the contacts, sometimes there is a problem with a memory card. Ultimately most of this boils down to a lens to body fit problem with the lens mounting shoe/bracket being slightly out of alignment or not locking up correctly. Try this, turn the camera on, then see if you can rotate the lens a smidgen without depressing the release. See also if it feels "loose" in relation to the body. If it errors during your test, you now know the problem and send it back. |

Kind of glad to know that its not just a Nikon problem. I will give it a good cleaning and be sure to hit the contacts on the lenses. Thanks again for the info guys... |
