Is there a way to disable loading of the images which members post within the threads? Sometimes I just wanna deal with words and not pics, and also it slows down my computer if there are too many pics in a thread.

If you're using Firefox, Tools --> Options --> the "Content" tab --> hit the "Exceptions" button next to "Load Images Automatically," type "forum.adultdvdtalk.com" in the box and hit the "Block" button.
(That's for Firefox 3.5.3; process may be different for older versions. But why use an older version?)

Thanks Harri Patel. Is there nothing within ADT settings to do it? Your method is more drastic than I need; but if that's the only way, then so be it.

No, we don't have an option for that kind of thing. I do think it's a good suggestion. I just hadn't thought of it.

I blocked images from "img.adultdvdtalk.com" and it seems to have the desired result of blocking only the member-posted images inside the threads, while still allowing the various other ADT images to display normally.

That's the way to do it. All of the images uploaded by members come from img.adultdvdtalk.com.

A thing that has annoyed me before is when I visit an image filled thread, and I'm taken directly to the first post made since I had last read that thread, but all the images above that post on that page, which I've presumably already seen, still load before the images in the new posts.

The server tells your browser to cache the images for 24 hours. If you revisit a thread after that time your browser will ask the server to resend all of the images in a page. The order that it requests them is determined by the browser but usually follows the order they appear in the source code.
