I can understand why a predominant amount of porn is shot in cali and the west coast, with a lot of girls struggling to make it in any type of show biz out there, but I would love to see more East coast porn shot with the background of my native NYC I just feel it has more character and attitude. I wish i could start up a Studio here man, I am sure i could sell up the benefits of the EAST SIDEEE!!!!

Years ago there were several studios that were East Coast based. Not entirely sure of the reasons for the decline. Comstock Films is NY based and still shoots. Tony Comstock posts on these forums.
There is some porn companies down around the Tampa or Miami area. I think Jimmy D, or Simply Jimmy is one of those.
California became the main base for more reasons than just girls struggling in any type of show biz. Some court rulings (cases) set a precedent for the business of being more 'friendly' to the porn business.
There's an expression in the film bizz: Shoot indoors in LA and outdoors in New York. This is followed to the letter by NYPD Blue which, in fact, shoot all their interiors in LA, then flies everyone back to NYC to shoot their exteriors.
New York is an amazing pre-built set. It also has rules and regs that are much friendlier to shooting on the street than in LA. Probably has something to do with cars – the average New Yorker is not particularly inconvienced by a street being closed to traffic, or having all the parking taken up by a dozen production trailers.
The first photo set I ever sold (to Legshow) took advantage of the production value that is available for free just by shooting on the streets of New York, or in this case, under. We got on a 1 train on the IRT, rigged it with battery powered strobes, and went to town. With the addition of a half dozen extras, it looked like the model was doing a strip-tease on a rush hour train!
Tony man i totally get your point NYC is one of the best back drops in the world, but i assume the porno shooting outdoors would be slightly limited lol.. do to its nature. But i am glad to see that someone is keeping the east coast represented in the industry. I have to unfortuately say I havent seen any comstock stuff, but I look forward to finding some of your stuff that interest me... see posting brings forth customer so execs keep writing in.
Btw Tony I don't know if you read my post about thinking about breaking in the business... but let me know if there are any Nyc Oppurtunities. If I really decided to break in I would work at least for a while for little money just to prove myself... lol you just pay for lunch lol.

Btw I have a friend whom works in a building (which i won't give address out, to keep the severe perverts away) which he tells me on the 7th floor they usually have naked chicks coming in and out of the bathroom to change.. I assume that is photo shot studio of some type, I heard a older asian man runs it. It on 28 street on the west side just wondering if TonyC knows about it. I was looking for the name maybe i could contact someone there my friend is too prude to ask.
oops sorry I meant Northeast coast i should have been more specific like the big citys like NYC, Boston hell i'll deal even with chicago lol. Florida is nice and all but it almost just like cali, so i see why it make sense to shoot there. We need to get some Northeast coaster from this forum together bring our love for the industry and make some big buck based out of nyc. Just a though.

Nyc has some of the best looking diverse set of women (and men in the world) Companies should really take advantage of this. I can image beautiful girls parading around NYC in Andrew Blake ish film, but also gonzo to the max and just straight up fun and wild like in the animal trainer series.
so many companys like studio A go out of there ways to Shoot in exotic places like rome and paris, when they usually don't empahsize the exoticness of eploiting citys more accessable to the domestic public. Well that just my thought..

Hmmm, you're from NYC so undoubtedly it is more accessible to you.
Airline promotions from other areas (West Coast) are aggressively trying for business and many times you can fly to Europe for almost the same price as a domestic flight to NY. Sounds weird, but it happens.
NYC is not the bargain basement city to be a tourist in. Sure a native NYCer would know where and how to cut expenses but it would be more difficult for a 'tourist'. In this case for the tourist it would not be that much different from Paris or Rome. (And Rome can be quite economical)
Not trying to downplay NYC, but just some observations of what I have seen. For the record I have been to NYC, Paris, and Rome.
I frankly would love to see some native New York babes in porn.Maybe it's because of the exotic factor(I'm from the Midwest,you know,we're all hicks here)but I love the accent and attitude of East Coast ladies,at least from afar.
I'm thinking I would love to see some New York ladies get all their holes filled,I'm perversely inspired when I watch actresses like Leah Remini,Jennifer Esposito,etc.Even Lorraine Bracco,although much older,still turns me on with her luscious jugs and her way of talking.
I know girls come from all over the states to to work in porn in Cali,but rarely do you see a homegrown NYC girl,you know like some chick born and raised in Brooklyn or something.Maybe it's just me,I like regional accents in women.

There are not words to describe the fantastic panoply of wood inducing women who parade by on the average mid-town sidewalk. Just stand outside the mid-Manhattan library at lunchtime and you will see 10 pornworthy women pass *every* minute. There is no other place with such a density of hotties.
Women in Manhattan tend to be better put together than the majority of the country and by a good margin. Urban places where it's too expensive for poor people to live and force people out of there cars are like that-you don't see bad skin and teeth or cheap haircuts in places like Belgravia. I actually think the majority of attractive women in manhattan wouldn't be anything special without clothes on-they're generally slim, but far from athletic resultant of the coffee and nicotine diet.
I WISH there was more of a northeast porn scene. But it's just too spread out. We certainly don't have the nice weather conditions of LA... although Budapest doen't either!! I really believe it's just too conservative here. I can't tell you how many times I've had to drive 3 hours to do a shoot! And how many girls won't do the same from my production pespective.
I've sadi it before, and I'll say it again. All these factors are why I'll end up in LA.

this always boggles my mind how NYC with its what - 20 million people in the area, has so little hardcore video production going on. Seems incredible with probably a million girls between 18-30, maybe it's more than a million in the area. But I have a friend who started there and he tells me it just isn't possible, he tried, he had to go to LA and Las Vegas to get his business off the ground and now he is very successful. You have guys who are shooting in midwestern cities a fraction of the size of NYC and they can find enough cute girls to do hardcore for their websites. Portland Oregon has a better more active porn industry than NYC. It doesn't surprise me that Manhattan women aren't interested but you have South Jersey, Philly and Long Island, thousands of trashy cute chicks.
I remember Rick Savage's Streets Of New York #2. There was that outdoor scene featuring Merlina Froehlich, almost frozen, sucking Rick under the snow in Central (?) Park. Remains unreleased on dvd

But I agree with your basic premise, more east coast porn would be a good thing. It's not just the background surroundings there is a different feel to east coast porn, especially in the ethnic market. The energy, the feel and the realism of the sex is evident.
I believe its the girl mentality here that set them apart not to mention the diversity, why go to budapest when you have dozen of russian and ukranian girls whom work in strip clubs here and jersey, won't it be easy to get them to take the next step?? I consider porn a much "clean" business anyway it not just some dude in from the street like Strip clubs, Ya'know?
I definitely would love to have some porn-girls making movies in my backyard, here in Florida. Shanes World-Tropical Paradise was filmed in South Florida and Seymore Butts filmed here with Kathy Willets. South Beach would seem to be the ideal place, being that you can't walk a city block without finding a beautiful girl in a thong.

South Beach is a very dangerous place. I lived in Miami for two years and went to South Beach many times.
I was always in danger of either sunburning my tongue, or tripping over it.
Early porn had a lot of companies on the East Coast. Then like television and movies it moved out West. TV used to be huge out of NYC. Cost of living is high in both places. I think Denver Don hit it on the head. LA has friendly court rulings and many women who tried to get into entertainment. How many moved to LA thinking they would hit it big in TV, movies, music? They certainly feed the escort market. Then there are those who moved out just for the sun and sand. So you have a lucky convergence of factors.
Anybody remember Pearl Necklace Video out of Florida? They had Rachel Linneau, Jessie James, Chandra Sweet, early VixXxen, early Kitty Yung, and Lexus (not Locklear). They had some hot stuff for a while.
