Why doesn't Adult DVD Empire ship to Jacksonville, FL? Everyone else can (and does), and porn is perfectly legal, we even have brick-n'-mortar stores, and many regular rental places rent adult DVDs (OK, probably doesn't mean shit, but at least gives a better picture). This sucks, 'cause i cannot use all the benefits they offer.

Tilldawn,

Due to local restrictions within Jacksonville we are unable to ship adult material to this area. Adult DVD Empire abides by all local and state regulations and therefore we are unable to ship to Jacksonville. A complete list of areas we cannot ship to can be found here.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Are you close enough to a bordering town that renting a PO Box at a non-Jacksonville Post Office is an option?

tilldawn did you just move there? Maybe its only ADE. If not I'm sad to hear it.

Thats always a nightmare of mine. Moving to an area then find out you can no longer get porn. The horror.

Bill, it's only ADE so there is no need to travel anywhere else. If they don't want our business, fine. Everyone else is sending their stuff here anyhow. I'm pissed only because of kickback program.
Aaron0617, i have been here since Oct. '98, and you can get porn here except from ADE. As matter of fact, i'm a good customer at Action-DVD and Laseredge, I also ordered from many others w/o any problem.

You ever notice how most of the states/places that want to ban porn are also the ones that constantly complain about "big government?"

I'm not sure what kind of "local restrictions" Jacksonville could place on the shipment of adult videos by the USPO.

I'd be very curious to know exactly why ADE feels they can't do this.

Unfortunately Alabama got put on the black list back in the early 90s. Still have not found out the full reasoning, but literally overnight several companies quit selling by mail here. Luckily a few still do, but it takes some hunting.

People are still fighting the BS and have won a few small battles, but the war is still going on. A few years back they tried cracking down to the point that even adult toys and magazines would have been outlawed as well as rental of any videos that were unrated or above an R rating.

Has there ever been an obscenity prosecution in Jacksonville? Mailing adult content to a location is the same as selling it from that location. Extreme got busted for selling via mail order.

Some stores just don't feel that the reward doesn't outweigh the risk of selling to a location that has shown a propensity for prosecution (even if the store wins, they end up spending a lot of money doing so).

Not that i know of, especially in last 5 years (Maybe that Danni Ashe thingy when she was stripping in a regular bar totaly intoxicated, cops tried to ID her, and dumb bitch started to scream and tried to run away in the middle of the night) I know that Southern Baptists are trying to outlaw pornography, but this is a large city, and not some small church comunity, therefore they can't get away with it. And now they even try to make Jacksonville as close to more liberal cities like NYC or LA because there will be Superbowl in 2005, and they need more business. I will stress this one more time: ADE IS THE ONLY ONE THAT DOES NOT SELL THEIR MERCHANDISE HERE. I have ordered couple of titles from Extreme once, and no problem. I'm getting a lot of foreign titles, namely Dorcel titles, and never did i have a single problem with customs, especially since they are located right here. And like i said before in this thread, even regular video stores, one of them is pretty big one, News Video, carry Adult DVDs and tapes, Blockbuster caries R rated and Unrated videos, etc.
