Hi, since a few days, when I click on a topic (from active topics) it does not go to the first unread post. It goes to the right page, put stays at the top. I do see the #post in the url.

Which browser are you guys using? It's working for me in Chrome and I can see the onload event handler loading in the page footer.

I see Firefox is throwing a warning about the version of Jquery we're using. But the post jump doesn't use JQuery.
FWIW, It's working for me in FF too.

FlacFan reported via email that the page is scrolling down and snaps back to the top. Is this what you're seeing too?

I made a few changes. Please let me know if they fixed it or not.

I'm using Firefox 42. Yes, the screen "flicks" real quick and I guess that is what FlacFan is reporting. It happens so fast I don't see it scroll down and snap back to the top but I guess that is what's happening.
I'll try things for a bit and see if your changes worked.

It still appears to be a problem. I even deleted my cookies in case that mattered.
What version of Firefox are you using Drew?

I'm going to remove the deferral from the jump-to-post and see if that helps you. your browser may be loading things in a different order than mine due to network latency.
do you have any samples of topic URLs? are they image-heavy topics?

It seems to have something to do with the overlay too. I always just middle click links to open them in new tabs, but I tried to be fast enought to go to a tab before it finished loading. So it went something like, click the overlay, page flicks up and down.

It occurs in threads without any images, including this one and the #KeepTalkAlive thread in Porn News.
I can update Firefox if necessary. I usually don't update right away or until needed. I view updates as opportunities to break what was working. Especially with Firefox seemingly having a new one every month.
I won't update yet in case you really want to solve this.
Thanks Drew.

Are you seeing the We Need Your Help overlay on every page? It's setup to drop a cookie with a 3 day expiration when you click a link or close the overlay with [ESC] or the X. You should only see it once every 3 days.

I don't know if this is related or a different problem but I've been on the forum throughout the day today but at the top of the page it has said "You last Visited - Mar 27 2016 : 12:28AM" all day.

Drew, I protected the fund cookie (I erase all except protected cookies when I close my browser) and now everything works fine. Probably an edge case, with me opening lots of tabs at the same time and the site trying to do the overlay on all of them.

Is FireFox warning you about blocking a popup?

I'm not getting any warning. I don't get any pop-ups.
I do have pop-ups set to block in Firefox and have AdBlock Plus and spywarelaster in use.
I do see the black banner in the upper left for #KeepTalkAlive and it switches from sponsor to sponsor with each new page load.

OK I think I figured it out.
I still have pop-ups blocked in Firefox but I disabled AdBlock Plus on this site only. You do that by going to your ABP controls while you are on ADT and check "disable on forum.adultdvdtalk.com"
Now it is jumping to the last read post in the threads as it should.
The only (minor) issue I see now is that the pop-up about #KeepTalkAlive has already popped up on me 3 times in the past hour. It isn't happening on every page though.

The overlay for #keeptalkalive will only appear if your browser doesn't accept the "fund" cookie from us.

Okay, I've also turned off the adblocker software for this site after reading pringles' posts. And everything is working as intended for threads I had not already visited today before turning off Adguard. But if I go back to a forum thread that I had already visited today before I turned off adguard, I get the Keep Talk Alive popup every time. I've tried reloading the page, and even closed and reopened my browser. I'm guessing that it has to do with how FF caches and uses cookies and tomorrow the whole forum will work as intended.

And no, Firefox wasn't telling me about blocking the popup. The icon for adguard had a little number by it to tell me how many ads were blocked in that tab, but it didn't tell me about any of them being popups. I never saw the Keep talk Alive popup until I disabled adguard for this site less than an hour ago.

I think you will be OK tomorrow. That's how mine went. Everything is still good for me.

I think I need to do a little work to figure out how to defeat adguard or detect it and deny access to the forum for people that use it.
The forum is free because we run ads.
