Look. There are pay porn sites that make money. If they didn't then they wouldn't keep producing the product. No one is suggesting that tori could come back and retire off one scene. But surely she would make a bigger payday for any first scene back. So if you can make good money doing g/g then it makes sense to build anticipation and maybe push any potential paycheck up for a return to b/g. I can only speak for myself. I would say I'm a slight above average porn consumer in that I pay for some porn and also occasionally use tube sites. I typically would not join a site for one scene from any performer. So when I think to myself that I would definitely join say a hardx should they get the first tori black return b/g scene then I think to myself that I'm probably not the only one. Drawing in new customers is all pay sites are looking for. And it's rare that one scene could do that. I think this one could if she indeed came back. That has value.
^In that case you will be better served by buying Tori's older videos because although I don't rule it out. I don't get the feeling that b/g anal is in Tori's immediate future. In fact I don't think it's in her future at all.
I think you've raised some good points pat, I guess we just fundamentally disagree about how big of a draw Tori's first B/G scene back would be. The fact that she has an extensive catalog already doesn't mean much to me. When she shoots something new I'll be there to buy it.

Except that you're not paying $20 for one b/g video. You're paying $20 for all the videos on the site, with her video being the one that led you there. You pay Tori the extra money to lead people there, not because people will join because of her one video. All of your talking belies a fundamental misunderstanding of how the porn world works right now, for the most part. That, in the end, traffic is the most important thing. For the most part, as long as a site's quality remains about the same, the site converts browsers to paying members at the same rate no matter who the movies are of. You pay for comebacks, and you pay for firsts, because they are proven to be able to bring traffic to the site, which isn't actually the same as the idea that you're paying because people will want to buy that specific video. Also, camming is 1.) not a lucrative as you think it is and 2.) not as easy as you think it is. You see a performer make 10,000 tokens in one show, and you think that's a lot, until you look at the model agreements and realize that models only get paid like 5 cents a token (so she only made $500). The women you see making hundreds of thousands a year are the ones that basically cam every day (or close to it), and do so for hours a day. And that's ignoring the work they put in behind the scenes to get ready for said work. It's more convenient because you can do it from anywhere, and the startup costs are lower, but there's a good amount of work involved if you even want to be moderately successful at it. If camming were actually as lucrative as you think it is for performers, you'd see much more of them quit performing to do it, instead of doing it as a side gig to go along with performing.

^I'm probably at the complete end of the spectrum because color me rather quite disappointed with that trailer. I mean a black leather sofa in an old warehouse with performers wearing black and having sex the sofa or the concrete floor. I think it's a savvy business move. She's been semi-retired for a couple of years, enough time that people were forgetting her or newbies to porn didn't know her. I think it's part of a new business model for XXX performers, have a main career, go do some other lucrative things (feature dancing, escorting, cams) and come back to mainstream every so often to renew/build new interest.

I would be thrilled if she chose to expand her comeback and if she does than I'm right along with you guys but I'm trying to see what the advantages are for a 28 years old woman with over 400 titles under her belt to make any major comeback in the porn industry. Especially when that performer did everything her fans wanted her to do. Tori is returning into an industry where she will have to fight for the exact same jobs as women that are almost 10 years her junior and who are themselves more in demand for those jobs because they are new. Like it or not this is an industry driven by the blood of the young ones. We all want to see the new performers try something different so if a producer has to choose between a newbie or an established star making a comeback than the newbie is likely to win out. Worse many of the roles that producers are looking for and those that a 28 years old can no longer play. The only performer who came after her that I can think of that attained anywhere near the same level of name recognition with the general public would possibly be Remy LaCroix. Now, name recognition is something that's hard to quantify. I could probably dig up Tori's Freeones ranking or Twitter followers or something like that, but the basis of my opinion is purely anecdotal: People I know who are only casual consumers of porn, people who typically don't even bother to remember the names of the performers they masturbate to, know who Tori Black is. She's probably only one of four or five pornstars they could name off the top of their head. Yours and others experiences with people in your social circles may differ from mine. But if my impression is correct, and she truly is one of the most famous pornstars in the world, a company would have to be pretty foolish to pass up an opportunity to book her and go instead with some flash in the pan starlet who won't even be around in six months. Like I said earlier in the thread, if Tori starts shooting Boy/Girl again I'll be there with money in hand. If you think I'll be the only one, you're mistaken.

Just to add my two cents: I find it hard to believe there's any scenario where Tori makes a full return to both G/G and B/G and isn't back to being in the upper tier of requested stars. It's not like she's been out of the public eye this entire time and underwent a physical transformation (for the negative).
