The statement that were issued in regards to her comeback were pretty clear that she was only returning to help launch the new Lesbian X site. 2- I think way too many of those fans with rose colored glasses started to speculate about all the things she was going to do. At some point is stopped being hopeful expectation and more a case of temporary insanity. I am certain that if Tori had really planned on returning to the industry for more than a few lesbian videos than she would have announced it on her twitter feed and there would have been press released stating her return full time. 3-I don't think Tori needed to do those Lesbian X videos to increased her profile or even her asking price because she was Tori Black long before there was a Lesbian X or even a Hard X. I think that Tori saw an opportunity to make some quick money, help a friend and remind newer porn fans that she still exist and can be found on cam sites. If there is one thing that I could fault her is that I don't think she ever actually came out and said that she was only doing a few lesbian videos for the new site site and then she was returning to camming only. All the press releases touted this as a return to performing, she also promoted it as such on twitter and in interviews. It was never definitively stated anywhere that it was a return solely for a single showcase. As for the natural speculation that arose as to whether she would start doing B/G again, she definitely played a hand in that as well, hinting in her Twitch interview with Manuel Ferrara that it was a possibility. Also, I'm not so sure we can even say she's bounced yet. I've noticed a lot of performers have shifted to a more sporadic shooting schedule over the past few years. Jynx Maze is working more regularly now but there was a time when it would be many months between her shooting new scenes. It gave her more time to focus on other aspects of her career. Considering it's only been a little over month since the last scene of the showcase dropped it seems a little premature to say she's gone for good. [Link]

The LesbianX showcase, and how well it seems to have done in terms of notoriety, shows that there's no need to "strike while the iron is hot", that just her doing it will be enough to "get the iron hot", as it were. IIRC, in addition to camming, she still feature dances, so she still has her avenues to make money, so it's not a matter of needing the money as much as deciding if she wants to do it and who she wants to do it with. And if she explicitly weren't interested in doing it, she would be stating that, like she did after she originally got pregnant/married. She's leaving it open either because she wants an anticipation to build before she does it, or because she's still considering it. And as long as she's still going to conventions (which she has been the entire time she's been retired) and doing other things where she trades off her status as a performer, it's going to be a possibility unless she says it isn't. I think we should have a bit more patience, because like Mr. Fahrenheit already said, some performers tend to take a while to shoot scenes, prefering to focus on other venues for a while. Until she officially says that there won't be any more scenes, we can still hope to see more of Tori around. I wouldn't give up on her yet. [Link]

Click to expand I would call my view more realistic than jaundiced because unless the performer guarantees that she is going to do something within "X" amount of time than I assume(maybe incorrectly) that she is not going to do anything. The same applies if it's a studio making the announcement. That's why when people read/heard that Tori was making a comeback to shoot a few lesbian videos for a new site and not really anything else then I assumed she was only going to do that and nothing else. I'd like to point out that the press release regarding Tori were all accurate because a retired performer came back to shoot more porn. It's when people started to speculate or read between the lines that I saw a possible problem with expectations VS reality. I don't know what the future holds for Tori but normally when a performer has reached a certain level where the offers have slowed down or stopped or their various money making activities outside the industry (like camming) are lucrative enough to make a living than they leave the industry.
