Anyway you can understand the reason why these sorts of things exist, if your a producer and your paying all these expenses and book people you expect some sort commitment to be made. If performers don't intend to proceed then they should at least let the producer know after all agreeing to perform is a contractual obligation. Imagine all the money companies with low margins are wasting on people like this. As a side note, performers can help people entering the business choose management that will support their career.
