All i can say I am more than chuffed to have been nominated for Real Couples 2 and dont mind that I lost out to the prolific Bang Bros for best amateur release. The fact I was nominated left me stunned that anyone even knew of me out there.
...Still I owe it to the couples without whom I am nothing.

On McKenzie Lee winning Best New Starlet: I can say that from behind the scenes I have seen this girl being groomed for the industry amongst people I know and get on very well with. She has worked very hard in my opinion and the fact she won the award is recognition of that hard work. On that note alone, I personally feel it was well and truly deserved despite all the head scratching that is going on. She came outta nowhere to be signed by Jenna. That must account for something...and Jenna aint no fool I'm sure you all know. I only wish I was there to witness the moment...and kick up a stink for losing out the the Bothers Bang! Grrr! Ha ha haaa...Fair play to you chaps too....you can stick your fuckin award up you choo-cha! (just kidding) :-)
Congrat's to you James and I'm so happy to have you aboard RLD/PXP team. Your movies are great and I cannot wait to see what you come up with for next years show. Please do another Vamp movie as you do such a great sexy job and I like your Darkside hehe...
You should be careful when you call someone uncle tom, unless you personally know Lex! he is definetly a hard working director and In the category with Sean M. , Justin still has to put some time under his belt to be in the same league with Lex and Sean!!

Sorry for that I said everybody, but some time we do or don't agress on thing sometimes. But Slayers still is the best peformer/director who know how to treat the lady well. Many IR web site were picking Slayer movie Just Fucked to win Best IR Flim, but web site like the Mr Macus former picked Slayer to be Lex for that award. I still go over there sometime and they still talked about that raciam crap, calling Lexington Steele Uncle Tom, and calling girls like Jenna Jameson a dodgers for not doing IR. I give Lex his prop on that he is giving for blacks in porn.
You're right. Swank Digital is the licensed DVD arm (run by James Baes who pretty much brought the Hustler DVD line out) of the Magna Publishing Group. They've put out titles based upon Swank, Just 18, Black Lust, Gent, Leg Action and others, and are currently in preproduction of Genesis titles. They put out over 40 titles last year and sales were incredible. They just signed a distribution partnership with Pure Play about a month ago. Denys DeFrancesco is one of the directors who makes movies for them.
First of, I hope that all the forumites who managed to get along to the AEE and Awards show enjoyed themselves and got plenty of cool pics.
Now, I was at the awards, and was just as surprised/not surprised at a lot of them. Most of them I can't comment on, because as a magazine editor I have to be objective. But top marks to McKenzie for winning the Best New Starlet award for the Brits, although I was pretty surprised that a Brit would win such an "American" award. I've yet to see any of her Jenna-era work, but I know her and like her, and she has come a hell of a long way since the began in the UK. Whether her performances were as good as the other girls on the list is something I can't comment on, because I haven't seen a lot of them, so I'll leave you guys to argue that out while I happily wave the Union Jack she wore that night!
On a personal note, it was nice to see Poppy Morgan on the big screen, getting dirty, even if she didn't win. And it was great to see Tory Lane pick an award up, because she's so hot, she melts my shorts.
But top marks to all the winners. Whether we all agree or not, they're still out there, putting their genitals on the big screen, day after day.
And a fine speech from Larry Flynt, too. My only disappointment was that this year, I didn't have two British girls licking each other out under my table, like a couple of years ago...

No contract girl...well, lemme rephrase...girl who works a 8-12 movies a year should win an award with such clout.
Ramsey said it best, you really can't take this with any seriousness, as one of the Gonzo girls would have been FAR MORE suited to win the title than some contract chick (even if she was a gonzo, contract chick).
As a result, I took one look at the winners,...sighed,...and then went on with my day (but posted a few condolences at the blogspots of those who didn't win what was rightfully deserved).
Interesting to note that it appears that just about the only people really complaining about McKenzie winning are fans rather than those who were also nominated...

Wouldn't that be considered a tid bit on the "bad sport" side of things?
People in the business that I spoke to both Saturday night and Sunday were just as surprised at McKenzie winning best Starlet as the rest of us were. It's nice to see that those who thought that they had a good chance at receiving this award, but didn't, have chosen to take the "high road" and keep their objections private.
They also may be getting some satisfaction from seeing that their fans are making their cases for them.

When the nominations were announced I had misgivings about the list for Performer of the Year but found the Starlet list very strong. After the voting I find myself agreeing with Audrey Hollander for the big award even if I would have voted for Sandra Romain myself. I'm still scratching my head over McKenzie's nod along with the rest of the public and don't understand the rationalizations put up by people that claim she "worked hard" to get in this position. Were there private rehearsals that voters were privvy to? She's a beautiful woman and had some good performances but was clearly overshadowed in quality and quantity by several of the other nominees. Maybe this was an alternative to Keri Sable, who pulled the plug on her career just prior to the AVN's. McKenzie is probably the embodiment of what the voters want to see as opposed to what they, and everybody else, saw.
True, and that is admirable. Still, I have yet to see any year that this category doesn't solicit ill feelings towards the winner by at least some who didn't win - but that is the nature of the beast.
I think she's too one-dimensional. She'll do almost any depraved thing you could ask for, and she looks nice ... at first. But I tired of her semirobotic nature quickly. I tend to pass over dvds she's in now ...
Yeah, there have been a few no-brainers in the past years like Alex Jordan, Missy, Jenna, and others. In most of these cases there was little if any surprise - they were deserving without a doubt. Any other no-brainers of the past come to mind?

Well, for me - I would say Samantha Strong and Victoria Paris and Tori Welles as starters. But I wasn't in the business yet, so I wasn't really following their competition.
I'm thinking back - I think the first time I remember seeing you, Tricia, was at the CES in (just a guess) '96(?) and you were working a booth with Jessie Jane (the one from Florida) and...I think...was it Coral Sands? I remember the three of you playing around on a stage at the booth that had a dance pole in the middle of - I forget what company it was though, but I'm guessing Elegant Angel. Am I close?
First let me say that I've barely followed the awards this year. That said, I have many other years. There's a big difference between "I think Performer X should have won, but Performer Y does have a lot of support or does a great job" and "Performer X won. Who's she????". Yes, I remember MacKenzie putting out some good scenes. I've also heard so little about her this year that I thought she left the business...

McKenzie's win opens up the same old can of collusion charges hurled AVN's way every year Vivid wins too many awards. The cynic, neo-Weberian in me is inclined to agree with Fayner while the optimist in me thinks that maybe it's unfair.
But, as I stated earlier, the AVN awards are what they are and lending them any validity by taking them too seriously is a big mistake. That said, I fully expect all ClubJenna press releases for the next year to refer to McKenzie as AVN '05 Best New Starlet McKenzie Lee (Sunny Lane, who was eliminated in Jenna's reality show where the winner gets a ClubJenna contract, would be doing the same damn thing).
I got to see them up close as a non-insider and the AVNs are no big deal...just like any other award show, be it the Grammys, the American Bankers Association, whatever: too long, too boring, too self-congratulatory. I will give them credit, it is the one time when women who scarecely get out of their pajamas the other 364 days of the year manage to dress well.
Yes, there is usually one story which brings porn back into its own reality. This year it was Annie Cruz riding one her tablemate's dick (the name escapes me) during the show, and then sneaking out early so he could cornhole her backside. Mind you this was not her husband or anything.
