Hi, not sure if this is the proper subforum to post it in, but i have a few questions regarding ordering adult toys and dvds online and privacy of it being delivered to my home address.
I'm thinking of ordering a sex toy but what worries me is that once I order it and have it sent to my house, the package will have the name of the company i bought it from and the mailman or delivery person would see it. i think that's rather embarassing.
secondly what worries me is that I will get something (like a sex magazine catalog etc) in the mail from the website I ordered it from. I order shoes and sports clothes through eastbay.com. and every month i receive a magazine catalog from eastbay ever since i ordered from them. I dont mind that because its eastbay, but I will be mad if they send a sex magazine catalog. I hope they dont send me those things because I live with family. another good example is one time i made a contribution to an american indian website for a fundraiser. i ordered a 30$ hat off them because that was a cool hat. and now every week i get mails from that american indian website regarding fund raising, scholarships etc, things i dont care for. but because i ordered from them, i get a ton of junk mails from them now.
so yeah, how safe, secure and private is ordering adult toys online and having it delivered to your house? what kind of packaging do they send it in? will they have the name of the company such as "sextoytalk" on the package or "adult dvd" on it? will they send stuff like sex magazines and whatnot to my place and my family will end up finding out? any

Welcome to the forum!
It would help if you told us where you live, and which store you want to order from.

I once bought something from a brick-n-mortar Adult store and I ended up on Leisure Time's mailing list for awhile. I think the store got my contact info off the credit card and sold it to them. Or maybe the bank did.
That's the only time I've ever ended up on adult mailing lists. The reputable online stores are discreet--they want your repeat business. Some will have checkboxes you can fill out when you place your order asking whether you want to be contacted or not.
Every time I've bought stuff, it came with a neutral sounding name on the return address. I never got anything from PervsRUs.com, it ends up being Johnson & Ross, LLC, something vanilla like that.
Definitely ask here if anyone has experience with the company you want to order from. If any of us have used them, we'll tell you how it went.

here are the three websites i'm looking at. i just want to get my package as discreet as possible w/o the name of an adult oriented store i bought it from and i don't want to get mailing catalogs from them as a result.

So what if the box has the company name on it, or if you get the sex toy catalogue... Are you embarrassed? Do you think you're the only one on your block who orders or buys sex toys?
Cause I promise you, you are not.

On a related note, it really bugs me how most online store's and websites' privacy policy basically comes down to 'we may sell your name and address to whomever we choose'. Really limits the amount of distribution channels you can buy porn from. The industry is cheating itself out of money imho.

A vast majority of retailers will ship in plain packaging with a 'neutral' return address.
