I have it broken down into about 6 folders 1: Creampie 2: Masturbation 3: Full Movies 4: Lesbian 5: Porn Stars 6: Porn Sites. Now what is getting me is that there are a bunch of crossovers with this structure. Say Mia Malkova shoots a GG with Abigail Mac. I have folders for both of them under my Porn Stars folder or do I put it in the Lesbian folder. The Porn Site folder is for sites on the net. Now there will be crossovers here too. So I am tempted to organize it by Girl but not sure in a GG scene which girl to use. I just want to be able to find all of one star quickly and easily. Any help with this would be appreciated. I have two full 1T drives and am close to filling a third. @ Sparker - if you have pornstars and creampies as separate categories I can see that getting confusing. If it were me, I have a file folder for each pornstar with a subfolder of all their scene finishes (e.g. creampies, body, ass, tits, facials)... [Link]

For scenes I've downloaded I have a large folder on an external hard drive. Within that folder I organize folders based on the performer. I have this really cool program for making photo icons called IcoFX. I find a decent headshot of the girl, make an icon out of it and use it for her file. That way when I open up my porn folder, I can just peruse file folders like a thumbnail gallery and go with whoever tickles my fancy. It looks like this: Within each performer's file folder, I subdivide by studio. There are really only 4 studios I support: Elegant Angel, Evil Angel, Jules Jordan Video, and HardX. So it makes sense for me to divide this way. Looks like this: Then in those file folders I have the videos! What's really cool is that I recently got a Western Digital Media Player. I just plug my external hard drive into it and watch my porn movie files on the big screen. We are truly living in a golden age. [Link]

Click to expand I think you have to decide either go primarily by pornstars OR by action. Doing both like you have now will cause crossovers. I organize my folders this way: 1. Favorite pornstars. Here I have subfolders of pornstars where I have collected multiple scenes. If there's multiple girls, I put it in the folder of the star I like most. 2. Full movies 3. Japanese full movies (because I love this genre too) 4. Scenes. Here I keep scenes where I have just 1 or two performances from a pornstar so I don't overfill Folder 1 with one shot performers (and stars I don't know the name of. 5. Pictures [Link]

Daz1990 Member 84 Posts 5/13	Posted - Aug 11 2014 : 4:04PM I've used this application I found, it allows you to index your collection whilst at the same time tagging movies and scenes with things such as "Blonde", "European", "Japanese" etc. You make up the tags you want to use. Therefore your issue with which folder to place a scene is somewhat solved with this method. What I also like is it is really fast once indexed and it will create thumbnails of scenes - which if you don't know the name of a scene it's very useful when browsing your collections. http://sites.google.com/site/mediacoalesce/ I'm sure as mentioned that iTunes would do a similar job though. We need a web-based or downloadable porn database that we can personalise, where movies and scenes are indexed automatically by title, performers, director, studio, sex act and anything else we might be interested in. Any entry in the database should allows us to add personalised comments and ratings. It should also be flexible enough for us to include any title, regardless of its format or location, i.e. anything from a single scene hosted on an external site to an old VHS tape in a storage box somewhere. If the scene or title is available online, a simple click on the database entry of choice should get the ball rolling, so to speak. Now, do we have any clever developers on this forum? I am a retired systems analyst, so who knows what we could dream up on this forum. By the way, in the absence of such, I do use a simple folder structure based on studio, director and title. I then use the IAFD if I want to search out a specific performer. I tried maintaining a spreadsheet in MS Excel for a while, but that became too cumbersome to maintain. [Link]

Allows you to import, tag, search and generate thumbnails for all your movies and pictures. If your movies have the title, performers, director, studio, etc stored in the metadata, it can import that too. Once you've tagged all your content, it's easy to cross-index search. Daz1990 Member 84 Posts 5/13	Posted - Jan 16 2015 : 6:37PM I still use Media Coalesce for my porn collection, the fact that it has tags which display as folders at the top means that your videos/pics can belong to many folders at once so you can drill down (double clicking the tag) by year or favourite actress, or even act. So for example a scene with Riley Reid and Rocco will appear under both the Riley Reid folder and the Rocco folder plus any other folders it might belong to i.e. gonzo, 2013, etc. The first version did used to crash as mentioned above on some of my older video folders but that seems to have been resolved now as all my collection scans fine, just takes a while to begin with so you need to be patient :) I've also noticed that you can now specify an alternative location for a search folder meaning I can scan it quickly by plugging in the USB drive directly on my PC, pointing the index folder location to somewhere on my PC too then using my Raspberry Pi I share the hard drive out using samba shares across the network and once I've added the network location to the search folder's alternative location Media Coalesce works perfectly. You will need a free third party thumbnail app called MTN Thumbnailer but that's easy to find and download. I agree with the post above too, when you have HDs full of porn you never watch it. I used to find that because it took so long to browse through it I could never be bothered however with this app I can browse much quicker and enjoy my collection :) I've posted some screen shots but pixeled out some things that might be against rules i.e. hardcore pics. http://sites.google.com/site/mediacoalesce/ Daz1990 [Link]

Maybe a group of folders for genres, a group of folders for stars. A group of folders for studios. Whatever you want. In a specific folder, you make shortcuts to the appropriate file. If you're in the Lesbian folder, you make shortcuts to all videos that fit. In a specific actress file, you make shortcuts. In a specific studio file you make shortcuts. That way a single file an appear in more than one place, but you don't need to have multiple copies to do it. [Link]

However, if you are using an media player to watch files that are stored on your network, on a TV, then the shortcuts don't work. If you want a title to be listed in multiple folders, it needs to actually exist in each of those folders. [Link]

I have a document in that folder called "shopping list" that lists my wish list, by performer's first names. On a portable hard drive, with 465 GB of space, I keep a folder with separate folders, by first name, of images of those on my radar. On a portable hard drive, with 5.46 TB of space, I keep a folder with separate folders, by first name, of scenes of those on my radar. Acquiring images and scenes of beautiful couples is a great hobby for this old man. It's much more fun than collecting stamps or rare butterflies. Mister Fahrenheit All-Star Member Meh 4655 Posts 10/13	Posted - Feb 12 2015 : 2:59PM Sure. I'm using version 1.6.4 of IcoFX, so if you have a newer version this might not apply. So first you have to find a suitable picture to use for a headshot. I use Bing image search. You'll want to find a picture with large dimensions of very high quality. For an example I'll use Asa Akira. Found this photo of her using Bing: The original dimensions of the pic are 800 x 1200 which should be sufficient. Save the picture to your computer and then open it up using Microsoft Paint. Move the edges of the picture inward until you get a suitable looking headshot. The width and height of the picture must be the same if you want a good looking icon. It needs to be square. I've moved the edges in until the width and height both equal 321 pixels. Save the changes you've made to the pic. You don't want to go below 256 x 256. Those are the dimensions IcoFX will scale your image down to. If you go below 256 x 256 the image will look weird when it's scaled down. The new picture now looks like this: Now Open IcoFX. Select "File" and then "Open." Initially it will be set to open Icon files. Change the file type to "Images." Find the picture in the location you saved it to. I use my desktop: Open the file. A box with a set of options will appear. For Colors, select "True Color + Alpha Channel (32 bits)." For Size, select "256 x 256": Click "OK." The image will open in a box called "Advanced Import." Click "OK." That creates the icon. Selct "File" and then "Save As." I saved the file as "Asa Akira" naturally. Close IcoFX, find the new icon and move it to the file folder where you keep your icons. Go to folder where you keep all your Asa Akira scenes, right click it and select "Properties." Go to "Customize", click "Change Icon" and then select the new icon. Voila, you should have a new customized Asa Akira icon for your file folder now. I hope this helps! [Link]

I'd been using MediaCoalesce for a good while and although it was good it was obviously very generic and really porn was made to fit to it, rather than it fitting porn. So I polished my programming skills and built my own application called Pornspective - "Putting your Porn in Perspective". It boasts the usual features you'd expect to find and has taken me about six months to write, but I'm happy it's at a real solid build now and hence letting you guys know about it. Things it includes :- Video and Photoset collection indexing. Instant (under 1 second) search across thousands of files. (I've tested to 50,000 files and 6TB so far). Thumbnails for videos. Remote control for Kodi media centre Built in video player with ability to bookmark sections of videos. Backup and restore feature. Tagging, and clever tagging (inheritance) i.e. Alaina Dawson video will automatically have flatted chested, tattoos, brunette etc as tags Custom tags, create your own! Help built in. Only negative is it's Windows only at this stage. No real plans as yet to port to Mac or Linux although I am looking to maybe package with Wine. The first volume is for 4k stuff, which I have categorized by performer names. Second volume is for all non-4k stuff, which has a more complex organization. Main folders are "Features," "Gonzo," and "Performers." Features are obviously for narrative porn, and that's categorized variously, by director, studio, and occasionally performers. Gonzo is organized by studio. I had a huge collection especially of Elegant Angel back in the day and I eventually migrated it all to here. Performers is obviously organized by performer. I don't care much for organizing by types of scenes. I'll watch anything if it's from a company and/or performer I like. [Link]

Inside of that I will have miscellaneous stuff from her like Custom Video, etc that doesn't fit neatly in PRODUCERS. If it's GG or doesn't fit neatly inside anything. I will leave it in PERFORMERS or put it inside a subfolder called "_MULTIPLES", the underscore "_" is there to move it to the top above "A". Inside PRODUCERS, I have subfolders, each with a name, for example "BANGBROS". Inside of that I will have subsubfolders for each model like "KARLIE MONTANA BANGBROS". Inside of that I will have all her content from that particular Producer. For GG or something else, put it in the main subfolder, your preferred Performer subsubfolder or create a special subsubfolder. The reason i have subsubfolders with both the Performer and Producer name inside is because before, I would search "X" Performer and get results of a bunch of folders "X", "X", "X"... all the same and wouldn;t know which was which. Now for different "Yn" producers, if I search the full database for a model "X", I get "X Y1", "X Y2", "X Y3" ... and it makes it easy to see which PRODUCERS/studios I have for a particular PERFORMER. Wherever I need, I drop txt files if I need to write myself a note about whats missing , what's a highlight, or where to go for something similar or whatever. For photosets, I make sure to store them in individual zip files (usually how they are downloaded anyways) and then unzip them when I pull them from storage and want to enjoy them. Keeping each image as a separate file will vastly slow down your systems. I keep everything backed up to the cloud, so i can be on the move and pull something whenever i want.
