Where are you guys getting the "ratings" from? Like, I don't consume mainstream porn at all. I generally feel that somebody is overrated if they get a lot of hype on forums or boxcovers. When I say a girl is overrated, I mostly look at all the praise they receive and awards they win when I feel they get too much credit. I find some of the most popular girls overrated but many people would tell you those that I like are overrated so I guess it's mostly a matter of opinion anyway. Sasha Grey, for example, is extremely overrated to me. She isn't all that attractive, and I don't understand why she wins so many awards and receives so many accolades, but then again, I don't really watch her scenes. I'm just not into her at all, and she is considered a top pornstar, so I would have to call her overrated.
I think any porn star who gets mainstream media attention is probably overrated. Being a good performer is all fine and good but I've never seen someone have sex on camera and think "There should be a news segment on this".

Threads like these shouldn't use the word "overrated" because people usually just rattle off names of people/stars they don't like. If you notice everyone has their own way of judging these things. Some are judging strictly on looks, some stictly if they do anal, some because they don't like them as much as they like someone else, some because the person decided the star is "boring", etc... There are pornstars I'm not really into but I understand why they have a big fanbase or big stars in the porn biz. Sometimes it's looks, sometimes it's because of performance, sometimes it's marketing.

I think some of you folks have missed the point if this exercise. Like and dislike shouldn't factor into this. For example, I loathe Jessica Drake and Savanna Samson(hey babe, you're 40-something. I think James Dean is a overrated for a male pornstar. He seems to be very popular among the porn girls and the fans like him a lot but I'd rather not watch his scenes. I think Marco Banderas is one of the best guys in porn and doesn't nearly get as much credit as James. I won't go on about underrated pornstars but I just thought that I'd use Marco as an example.
