Here's something very interesting: North Pole #72 What's interesting (to me) is: * NP#72 is a "new" title since things ground to a halt last year. * It is not available for sale anywhere -- including in Peter's own store. * It seems to be only available to be viewed by members of PeterNorth.com. * It features all the standard NorthStar sets we know and love. * It has an absolute A-list female cast! I could not (since I am not a member of the site) enlarge the back cover to check the 2257 date(s). The PeterNorth.com website has vastly improved over what it used to be. Assuming Peter and Craven have taken some time off from shooting and releasing new titles (during the economic slowdown), my guess is that they have made an effort to bring the website up to speed. If so, this is probably an incredibly smart move economically on their part. There will always be a market for Peter's own scenes and related movies. My guess is that, NP#72 is not "new" production, but rather the last volume produced from previously-shot footage. I'd like to know the answer. In any event, it would appear that all emphasis has been on the website (and it shows). When MANY titles are no longer available on DVD (or physical media of some sort) -- even on the owner's own store -- it indicates to me that physical inventories are being allowed to run out without being replicated again. One wonders if Peter and Craven will return to producing new titles on DVD at some future time? Again, I'd like to know the answer.
I watched one DTT title in the VHS era and was disappointed, although I don't remember exactly what it lacked. When reading this thread, I remembered to remove a DTT title from my rental queue.
North Star & Peter North productions are dead if you ask me....Too much competition and they could never really get good looking girls.

I bought a few DVDs from this company. I was never really upset with the quality of the videos. I was more upset with the fact that they enforced the unwritten law of porn; separating foot fetish content from anal. ANAL ADDICTS 17 ....Lyla Lei does a wicked RCA on Peter North wearing frilly lace ankle socks, just as she places her feet up on the knees, they instantly tilt the camera, close in, and cut the scene to another position. This company is just like all the others when it comes down to it. I never invested another dime in NORTHSTAR, especially not the features that were dedicated to female legs and feet "only".

Among the worst for picture quality that I have ever seen on DVD. It is unwatchable. Sad, because he has captured scenes of some women that are hard to find on DVD. I just wonder how many people care so little about picture quality in order allow distributors to actually profit from crap like this.
Hi Everyone. I could not wait to respond to the string involving Peter North's productions, as I want to dispel any mis-understandings involving his productions, his companies, his quality, etc. First let me begin explaining that Peter North's production company is and always has been Northpole Enterprises, Inc. About 10 years ago, he had partnered with someone in a Distribution Company, called Northstar Associates. I cannot go into detail at this time , but will tell you that the reasons he ceased business ops at Northstar early last year may be one reason for the quality of the DVDs you are seeing. Upon learning about some of the things going on without his knowledge, Peter hired an attorney and ceased ops at his distribution company, Northstar and started to search for a new home for his productions. Oliver Ashe (who posted earlier) no longer works at Northstar, or works in relation to Peter North or his productions. Since then, Peter has continued to Produce Movies with Craven Moorehead. Peter IS still filming, and looks better than ever. We have moved away from filming at the house in the valley (the one you joke about in the string)¡K(Grin)¡K.And are now shooting in some really interesting, unique places, such as courtrooms, jails, etc. Unique backdrops compared to the norm. Further, ALL of our videos we are releasing are in DVD-9 and shot in HD. I was confused about the comments regarding DVD-9 and DVD-5, because in looking back at the accounting system (Quickbooks), I see that all of the replication for Peter's titles was done in DVD-9 and therefore, the quality should NEVER have been compromised. I cannot comment on the quality THEN - I can only comment on the quality NOW....Again, I cannot go into detail, but let's just say that should not be a reflection on Peter. He is committed to his productions, and producing the highest quality content possible for his fans and his website. What I can assure you is that all stock of Northpole Titles were cleared out, and re-replicated by within the past year, after ceasing ops with Northstar, to ensure that we have only the highest quality content on the streets and on PeterNorth.com. Over the course of the past year and a half, we have also purchased two HD Cameras and spent $30k in upgrading our equipment in this effort, as well. I think I know why he degrades the quality of the media. In my camera (not porn quality, either -- it is a $99 Argus 5MP from 2006, designed for stills but also takes video -- which I haven't tried out the video on it even after four years), the media cards come in different data capacities, with 1GB being the cheapest. He is trying to use the cheaper cards to save money when for $20 bucks more he could have the 8GB card instead of the 4GB he seems to be using. If he is still using a camera that only uses the 1 and 2GB cards like mine does (the formatting changed in 2006-2007 for the 4GB-32GB cards and again for the 64GB version), he is crazy! Peter North movies have always had consistently good production and quality. His POV series is the best POV series ever made. Only gripe I have with his POV films is that they were all choreographed exactly the same and usually in the same room and bed. But I can look past that because the camerawork was great and the girls were fantastic. Where else are you going to see Maya Hills, Lily Thai, Monica Sweetheart, August, Lucy Lee, Dee, Tory Lane, Sue Diamond, Nyomi Banxxx, etc. in excellent POV films? And the "First Offense" series was excellent, too. You want to talk about some bad camerawork look at Lex's POV series or the PervertedPOV series. Digital Playground has never made a movie with good camerawork: everything is either too close or too far. They don't know how to center the action in the middle of the camera lens. Either you're looking at a girl's head and neck, her belly-button or you're looking at the entire room.

^ Are you referring to DVDs or internet porn? We, without mistake, are accurate about the picture quality of the DVDs. The points you mention have nothing to do with a clear, crisp picture.
When I watched some Deep Throat This title years ago, I chose one with two women in every scene because I wanted to see cumswapping, which was not in that video. Now there are lots of cumswapping videos, so that aspect is covered, but the DTT I saw more recently has another more significant flaw: self-stroked finishes. That is apparently true for the entire series. Kudos to RLD for being the first in cumswapping videos.
Peter was only in one seen in Deep Throat This 42. Is he even in deep throat this 43, is it worth buying? 42 had one great shot with peter that almost made it worth it. How did he do in Deep throat this 43?
I'll re-ask the question: does he even perform in his movies anymore? Half of the fun of a Peter North scene is really not even that dependent on the girl but the spectacle of the cumblast. Even with lousy aim the gal still winds up nearly drenched. I'm asking a serious question now: has he ever dislodged a gal's contact lens pumping cum on a girl?
ddl33, I recently wrote something in another forum that would have probably answered your question. No, the picture quality on the DVDs is not improved, in my opinion. As opposed to some of the other folks here, I have not looked at the bit rates and DVD format, I don't believe I have to! Even the most recent DVD that I purchased, Deep Throat This #44 is very poor video quality. However, since I convinced myself that this DVD would be the "new and improved" line, I purchased it. Here is my recommendation-join the PeterNorth.com site. It is something like $10 a month, and believe it or not, the video quality actually appears to be much better. It is in widescreen format, as opposed to the 4:3 aspect ratio that DTT 44 is rendered in. On his site, you have access to all of his DVDs and scenes, even ones that were just recently released. So it will save you a lot of cash, and you will get better quality. I have referenced the scenes I've downloaded against the DVDs, and there is no contest(in my opinion). Also, to answer a previous question, No, Peter has barely appeared in any of the recent DVDs. Instead there is a doucheladouche that I cannot stand in the majority of the scenes. The DTT series boasts "monster facials". Not with this lame-o. Every money shot is always pointed below the girl's face-which I don't think qualifies as a monster facial. Maybe they should change it to "Deep Throat This, Home of the pathetic collar bone cumshots" if they keep using this lame-ass. Peter has appeared in a couple of recent scenes, and he completely blasted the girls in those scenes (DTT #42-Isis Taylor, North Pole 73-Cindy Hope). Both were epic Northian facial blasts! Finally, the fucking brown leather couch is still proudly on parade. However, it appears that many of these scenes are pretty old (unreleased, but a couple of years old). So, I think Peter's company is trying to get everything released that has been sitting in a can for two years, and then hopefully they will release some new stuff shot in HD or at least decent quality video, with a brown vinyl recliner, and have the great decorator do some more work before he rides off on the big money shot into the sunset.....
Hell, looks like we're back to where we started two years ago. I was initially encouraged by the responses to this thread and some very positive interest it generated and Northpole Enterprises seemed to indicate that the quality is better now even for old releases with the clear out of old stock. But no-one has been able to confirm any of this. My question to Northpole Enterprises is, if I re-purchase a DVD of yours which I originally purchased in October 2008 will I notice any improvement in the picture quality? I would like nothing more than to be able to come back on here and report that the quality is now at least up to what I regard as the industry standard, unfortunately I suspect this is still not the case.
Yeah, I finally got NP74 from my queue and yes, it still sucks. I knew when he said he was using Pureplay Media (the same co that distributes Naughty America stuff) that it wasn't gonna be good. The reason because NA makes terrible DVDs also and have done so for years. They can't even get the aspect ratio right. I don't understand why people in this industry don't ask around or do some research when choosing something so important to their product. There are so few co's now that actually make good dvds. JJV, a couple of directors at Evil Angel, Lethal Hardcore and Redlight are only real reliable ones left. Pretty sad, but everyone else is hit or miss. Most of the stuff out there comes out looking so condensed. I'll check out their website. I subscribed to Brazzers last month, and while the quality was "alright", no matter how great the site content nothing looks as good as a well made dvd. Rentals are your friend...I preview everything before I buy anything. Get a good rental account and you'll never feel ripped off again.

My best ones yet that are out are in Deep Throat Ths #41 (scene with Rick White and Jenny Hendrix) I have done many other scenes but they are not out yet and were shot about 2 years ago.
