It seems like I am the "disappearing" guy these days.

I have noticed--just today--that some of my pics folders are either missing pics partially or completely.
I noticed this b/c I looked back at my review of "Meggan Does Malibu"--which for some reason is in the top 20 (yay) right now--and the pics are all gone.
When I looked at its folder and at some of the other folders, I noticed that some of the pics (or all of the pics) are gone from some of them.
Others are just fine.
The pics have generally been up for quite some time, and were no where near violating the Image Policy--I don't even post pics that involve ANY nudity, let alone disallowed forms of nudity or sex.
Any ideas as to why this happened? Is it permanent? Is there a way to get the pics back?
The only reason that I care is so that the reviews don't look crappy.
Thanks so much in advance.

I was just coming here to post about this.
I saw it too on a Nov. 4th post of mine here about Brooke Adams of the cover of Pound Your Round 2. It was image policy safe and had remained there for weeks.
Now showing the grey box with Image Not Found.
Now I know for a fact that I did not delete it out of my image library. I just keep 'em all in one big folder. Did the folder get too big. Size too big? Did I overwrite it?
The closest thread I found about such stuff was this one from 2008.

^I don't think that it had to do with your folder getting too big b/c I keep mine organized by movie, and I never have more than ten--usually less--in any given folder.
I wonder if something happened with the graphics server and they're doing / did data recovery (?).
(This would be reasonably similar to what the post that you linked noted. The difference being, of course, that the pics in question were up to a few months old.)

This is a new one. I'm not aware of any server problems.

I had two pics of mine disappear as "image not found" here.
I sent an e-mail to Steph about it (with the 2 pics attached), as I figured Steph or Drew deleted them (i.e. "image not found").
I don't think they were in violation of the image policy?

It happened to my reviews in at least the following places--perhaps others that I don't know about, as well:

Mine seem to be reviews that I submitted from 9/10/09 to 9/25/09 -- if that helps at all.
I can also resubmit the pics, but I believe that they will have to have the exact names as were given to the prior ones so that the encoding will recognize them.
If not--no biggie--but I figured it was worth mentioning.

I think I have a bug in a script that cleans up the drive when users delete images. It must be purging the wrong images. I have disabled the script's schedule. It shouldn't happen in the future but there's no way to retrieve the missing images at this point.
I have made some changes recently to the way uploaded images are served. For a while it was sufficient to require our entrance page cookie to prevent image leechers from scraping all of the images from our site. They have figured out how to get around it and tend to overwhelm the img.adultdvdtalk.com site downloading everything. It's really annoying. I'm working on a new, unfortunately slower mechanism to prevent this crap.

You can resubmit them but the reviews will have to be edited to include the new img name. We disassociate the image name that's stored on the drive from what appears in the HTML on the page. There's no way to know what randomly generated file names will be used for the actual file on the server and the HTML IMG tag that appears in the code.

^Hi Drew...thanks for the info and looking into it for me / us.
I would like to resubmit the pics, if it's not too much trouble.
I guess that I would resubmit the pics to my "Images" in my profile, edit the old review with the new names, and then...(?)
(a) resubmit like a new review
or
(b) email the text / coding to you or Steph
(?)
If this is too much trouble, don't worry about it. The reviews are old...but it would be nice to have them be complete, if possible.
Again...no biggie if it's too much of a hassle.
Thanks!

We can give you access to a page that will let you edit your reviews. That way you won't need to resubmit.
