Drew, can you tell what causes this? On several occasions I've attempted to make a clickable link but when using the generator it cuts off the rest of the URL as if it has a character limit. Is this tied to the Subject box?
I've tried to manually make the link, but it just shows the text including the codes that are designed to make the link, so I have to delete the codes and leave the rest.
What is even more perplexing is that Flash and Redish were able to take the URL text that I left in the posts and make a clickable link. Am I doing something wrong in trying to make the clickable link manually?

I don't use a link generator. I create my links, and have fixed several other people's by just putting [ url=httph://address.here ] linked text [/ url ] without all the spaces.

I just hand type the text under the urls marks instead of using the generator as well.
Its just a few typed words and its easily done.

It has a character limit either way. I think it's 250 characters.

Ok, I've tried to make it manually and still can't do it. Here is one of the links I'm having trouble with. Is it because you guys (Flash and Redish) are Mods and have more features available to you why you're able to make it work?

I would greatly appreciate it if someone posts the solution so I can see exactly how the text looks allowing me to copy & paste it in the Message body and use Preview to see if it does make a clickable link.
I would like two versions posted. One with a description, and one without. To make it simple, please use Tech Talk for the description. Thanks.

The ADT Link Builder will not accept a link this long. It's limit seems to be 126 characters total.
TinyURL will accept it. ==> [link removed: No link shorterners]
and you can put this link into the ADT Link Builder.

^ I would like to see what you did. I need to see the whole text of what it looks like before it turns into a clickable link so I see what it is that I'm doing wrong.
To prevent it from turning into a clickable link, leave something out (maybe a bracket) that will cause it not become one, but let me know where and what exactly you left out.
Thanks.

Just put your mouse on the blue colored link and right click.
In the drop down menu select Copy Link Address. That will put it on your clipboard.
Open a blank text editor file and Paste it into the blank file.
Look at it.

Thanks guys!!! I tested it out and I'll use tinyurl.com from now on when this issue arises. I totally forgot about Tiny. I used it once about 4 years ago.
Robert, thanks for pointing me to [link removed: No link shorterners]
