I used to shop for porn strictly by looking at the box and making a decision by what was on it. If I saw a picture on the box or the name of a performer, I expect the contents to include them. Likewise for descriptions of content.
I watch a lot of porn, and nowadays usually rent or read reviews before I buy. ADT is one of the best places to get information on content. If something is claimed on the box and does not appear in the contents, I usually consider it to be false advertising or a gross mistake in marketing or editing. Much to my disappointment, I own titles that the marketing hype doesn't match the content.
I probably watch a lot more porn than the average person, but that is likely true for most of us here that post to ADT. I think it affects my real sex life in a positive way, and don't feel at all like a loser for doing so. Even when I wasn't watching porn as much, I was still quite discerning when it came to expecting the content of a video to match what was shown on the box. I've seen many a reviewer comment on this as "false advertising." Is this important to other people watching porn, or is it just us reviewers?
It´s like with a lot of things ... you have to get burned b4 u know. I usually buy/rent only porn that has been made by a company i can trust. But even they are not free of errors sometimes. Other than that Cygnus5 said it all
Very rarely does the cover art on the front of the box represent precisely what a title has. Only rarely does a company outright lie about a performer being in the disk (at least somewhere, but content protrayed on the cover is often not found inside. Now, many companies do use actual scans on the back of the box. That is something else entirely.
While I have yet to see the film, I was very impressed with the back cover of Meat Pushin' in the Seat Cushion. While the pics on the backs of Red Light and Ana/Diabolic vids are nice, it's sometimes hard to tell physically similar performers apart when they're faces are covered with cum!
While the jpeg may be small, it's great that Tom's showing a good balance between reasonably sized pics (for a dvd cover) and identifying the performers in the pics.
As cool as ADT is, it's nice to figure out who the performers are without posting a request in a forum!

I bought a DVD once (swapped a while ago now) called Lip Service, which had reversable hardcore and softcore covers - I thought this was a great idea. It meant that the title could be shown on the shelves of the shops over here that wouldn't show the full-graphic covers and it also means your films don't have to live in the porn stash - they can be out on the living room shelves next to mainstream for all to see.
Hi,Theres at least one company that does their covers in this style. But, to be honest an adult who doesn´t have the guts to got to the adult section to get his movie has some real problems. I don't believe it's to do with not having guts to go to an adult section, and I agree that if you have a problem walking up to the rack with the world ADULT above it then that's a whole different issue. I like hardcore covers as you can see more of what you are getting but any video store that doesn't concentrate entirely on adult films will need to be aware that they will get a mix of customers. Now they can choose not to stock XXX titles but I'd much rather they had reversable softcore covers on show so that they could stock titles. I'm sure publishers would prefer the increase in outlets as well.
In addition, as I said before, there's the displaying them in the home scenario.
