I'm looking for information on good places to ask technical networking questions for automated downloads. Specifically, I'm using shell scripts and command line tools like wget/yt-dlp/curl to traverse a site and download the available video files. However, I'm experiencing issues with the site redirecting to lower resolution options than those I've requested.

If this is not the place for such questions, does anyone know an appropriate place for this sort of thing? I've considered the superuser.com site and have posted there but it doesn't allow NSFW content so my ability to provide specific examples is limited. And thus far the response I've received on the post I put there has asked for a specific example for them to look at, otherwise they don't think they'd be able to provide an answer.

If this is a good place where discussion could potentially get quite technical regarding networking and server redirection and what servers use for bot detection, anti-spamming, etc. then great. I'll be happy to provide more specifics but I didn't want to burden anyone with an extensive post if this is not the appropriate place for it.
