There are "Platinum X Europe", which have a red "Europe" below the "Platinum" text.
These DVDs often (almost every time) have double-sided cover, a "hard" and a "soft" variant (as can be seen above), but the DVD itself looks identical to their US counterparts.
They are in NTSC (not PAL), and have all the extras.
But the "Italian" ones often have
- different covers
- slightly edited to feature the Italian title (very crudely edited into the movie)
- most times Italian dubbing, and sometimes missing the original English audio track
- sometimes cut for length (if they are shrunk on a DVD5 instead of DVD9)
- other times, instead of standard DVD resolution 72 hex 480 (NTSC), they use the (also allowed by the standard) half resolution of 36 hex 480, which then gets stretched to full size.
With "Platinum X Europe", I never had any issue (with regards to content, if someone likes the french text ("Avec" instead of "with" in the image above)
But I'd stay clear of "Platinum X Italia"
