| birthofcool Member 175 Posts 3/09 | I have searched around here and could not find anything on this. I want to watch videos either played from my hard drive or Streamed from a Website on my HDTV. What is the best option to do this? Would appreciate any advice and direction for further research. Looking for a system with minimal bells and whistles. Just want to watch my porn on large screen in HD if the vid has the resolution. Something that explains the options and the trade offs between potential solutions would be of great help. Or a site, or group of sites that would be good reading to bring one up to speed. Finding information difficult because any Google search yields to broad and meaningless hits. From what I can determine maybe Apple TV with some type of AirPlay hack would work or maybe this Roku? I am very techie on the Computer end, but don't know much about Home Entertainment Systems. I have searched a few popular video forums, and a couple mac forums, Thank you in advance. [Link] |

What file formats do you need to play, do you need wireless capability, do you need internal HDD, what type of HD connection (component or hdmi or dvi), do you need netflix (or other such services) capabilities?....and on and on. Answering these questions is necessary to choose the right box for your requirements. |
